Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two is now available on Digital and Blu-ray, but for some fans, the movie may prove somewhat disappointing.

While Part One laid the groundwork for the latest adaptation of Marv Wolfman and George Pérez's classic story, the sequel largely focuses on Psycho Pirate's origin story and Supergirl's relationship with her adoptive father, The Monitor.

There are some fun cameos, including DC Showcase: Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth!'s title character, but the movie's portrayal of the Bat-Family is sure to raise eyebrows.

Jensen Ackles' Caped Crusader isn't interested in sidekicks and even tells an alternate-reality Dick Grayson that he's glad he dumped his Earth-3 doppelganger off at the orphanage after the Flying Graysons were killed.

He does ultimately fight alongside (and against) Damian Wayne, Huntress, Batgirl, Duke Thomas, and Batman Beyond, but the main source of disappointment will probably be the fact the latter never speaks.

We may have missed the odd line on a first viewing as Will Friedle is credited as reprising the role, but as best we can tell, he only grunts his way through a handful of fight scenes. This may be down to budget or rights issues, but it's a shame to see Batman Beyond used so sparingly given the excitement that followed his appearance in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two's trailers.

The movie ends with a brainwashed Supergirl killing The Monitor and the remaining Multiversal superheroes assembling to battle the Anti-Monitor.

There's no sign of Kevin Conroy's Batman or Mark Hamill's Joker in this second chapter, so time will tell whether the rumours of them sharing the screen one final time in Part Three are correct.

An endless army of Shadow Demons bent on the destruction of all reality swarms over our world and all parallel Earths! The only thing opposing them is the mightiest team of metahumans ever assembled. But not even the combined power of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and all their fellow superheroes can slow down the onslaught of this invincible horde. What mysterious force is driving them? And how do the long-buried secrets of the Monitor and Supergirl threaten to crush our last defense?

Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two is now available to purchase digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu and more. You'll also find it on 4K Ultra HD in limited edition SteelBook packaging and Blu-Ray.

Warning: "Justice League Crisis On Infinite Earths Part Two" is extremely bad. This movie is not good. The Tomorrow Universe has been an abject failure. This movie focuses more on Psycho Pirate than any other character. It's jarring. The whole movie is jarring.

@videovac - Was considering on skipping part 2, the first one was absolute wet dog shit. They haven't made a good animated film since Flashpoint.

Tomorrowverse has been pretty meh so far IMO. Hopefully, the finale is at least satisfying.

@ModHaterSLADE - they’ve definitely got a big hill climb to stick that landing. Just finished watching this movie and while wasn’t garbage, it’s ultimately boring and very discombobulated.

@Arthorious - Was afraid of that, part 1 was a drag as well.

Outside of Man of Tomorrow and Part 1 of the long Halloween, the Tomorrowverse movies are just a bust. I’ve even enjoyed some of the new52 movies more compared to the Tomorrowverse.

@Arthorious - I still need to see Long Halloweenand the others but I liked Man of Tomorrow and enjoyed Justice Society & Green Lantern

I do think them having to rush it due to having to end it prematurely was unfortunate but sucks to hear it might be a bust.

@TheVisionary25 - I think that’s what ultimate did them in: quickly having to wrap up. Justice Society was good too but I was hoping for a stand alone Flash movie.

Definitely interested to see what they’re gonna do next

Yeah I think it's time to wrap up this verse. I loved Man of Tomorrow and the Long Halloween, enjoyed the Justice Society a bit, but the rest have just been bad. And The Long Halloween is the only one I'd consider rewatching over again. At least with the N52 universe they were somewhat fun/enjoyable if they weren't good. These at their worst are absolutely boring. It seems that DC Animation needs an overhaul.

@NightBoyWonder - agreed. While most of the new52 movies focuses on Batman there were some that I really enjoyed: Batman vs Robin, Justice League War, Justice League Dark Apokolips War, and my favorite: the Death of Superman.

At SOME POINT, we're gonna have to have an honest discussion about "grumpy Batman", and how boring, outdated, and uninteresting that take on the character is. To give him so many interesting supporting characters, but not have any charisma to actually make the interactions entertaining. It's like, what are we doing?

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - "we're gonna have to have an honest discussion about "grumpy Batman", and how boring, outdated, and uninteresting that take on the character is." .... Glad to know that I'm not the only one who is a big fan of the nipple verse. User Comment Image

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the new 52 movies are better than the Tomorrowverse. But it's like comparing regular poop to diarrhea.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - and that’s how the dialog has been in pretty much all of the recent DC animated movies (except for the standalone ones).

Still need to check out Part 1 but from what I’ve seen , it seems like Bruce’s arc in this is going from loner to realizing that having a family around him is a good thing which I like (atleast on paper)…

Him apparently saying he’s glad he dropped off his Dick Grayson at an orphanage does seem a bit harsh.

I do think Jensen has done a good job though.

@DanFlashesShirt - As long as he keeps the DTVs going but with the new DCU canon. Possibilities are endless.

Supergirl’s adoptive father the Monitor? What did I miss?
Arthorious
Arthorious - 4/24/2024, 1:26 AM
@RolandD - there lies the problem with this universe: so many things were established without movies or other connections.

Granted it worked for the Justice League show but that’s easier to do with a series vs a movie. They should’ve just made the Tomorrowverse a Max series.

I bet the reason why Batman Beyond don´t speak is because "Quiet on set" and the Will Friedle involvement with Brian Peck
