Darkseid And His Parademon Army Head Into Battle In New JUSTICE LEAGUE: WAR Still

When the powerful Darkseid and his massive, relentless forces invade Earth, a group of previously unaligned super heroes – misunderstood and, in some cases, hunted by the authorities – discover the only way to fend off the attack will be to work together as a cohesive unit. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Shazam and, in his origin story, Cyborg combine their respective talents in an all-out battle to save the planet. Based on the 2012 graphic novel, “Justice League: Origin,” by Geoff Johns & Jim Lee, JUSTICE LEAGUE: WAR provides a glance into the world before the Justice League was created, and offers the initial animated incarnation of DC Entertainment’s “The New 52.”

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment, Justice League: War features the voices of Jason O’Mara (Vegas, Terra Nova), Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs), Justin Kirk (Weeds), Alan Tudyk (Suburgatory, Serenity, Firefly), Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible III), Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds), Sean Astin (LOTR films), Bruce Thomas (Army of Darkness) and Steve Blum (Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox). Producer is James Tucker and director is Jay Oliva from a script by Heath Corson.

Darkseid looks silly but this looks like it'll be continuing DC's animated Golden Age.

Can't wait to get my hands on this movie. I already got a bit of animated DC movies:
JL: Crisis on Two Earths
JL: Flash Paradox
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
Superman Unbound
Batman Beyond

I also got to get JL: Doom on Blu Ray now since it's not on Netflix anymore.lol

Thanos is a copy of Darkseid, so if Darkseid looks like Thanos he's looking like himself.

Steve Blum is a bad Darkseid his voice is more scheming minion then all powerful god of a planet. They should have gotten him for Desaad Darkseid's minion. Michael Ironside is still the best voice for Darkseid I have ever heard.

Thanos without sweat- guy destroyed the universe. on the other hand Darkseid is just another looser with Godlike status. there is a lot folks like him on facebook ;)

Im not a DC guy but... are there any other big bads in the DC universe besides Darkseid? I mean it seems like he's the only real threat.

Thanos had plan and he made it happened. his weapon is brain. IG its just tool. You can not take computer from programmer and tell, that other dude knows better java script.
you know, without sun aunt May can beat Superman LOL

ok, maybe not May but Burton for sure. with bare hands. :) no big difference like for potential opponent for Hulk.
my point is clear, if you take important part of one character, take from all heroes/villains. but if you keep for one than keep for all. Thanos is second strongest character from Marvel AND DC, only stronger is TOAA.

I really like Darkseid but if we get him in the JL film, how are do you think theyll do him different to avoid the inevitable Thanos and chitauri/parademon comparison?

@Mac Read Superior by Mark Millar. The main villain is pretty much what Mister Mxyzptlk could be if the writer's protayed him right and he's a pretty good villain.

Pre-Crisis Darkseid would flatten anyone, in any universe - period. I hope to high heck if Darkseid is brought to the big screen it is in pre-crisis mode.

Also for the 99th million time - Darkseid came before Thanos! Some of these know it all posters need to get the facts straight when they say Darkseid is a ripoff of Thanos when in fact it is Thanos who came second and is a copy of Darkseid.

i mean Barton, sorry.

what kind of biology is sun? its external source of energy, just like IG. Hulk is basically source of energy and this is his biology, it came from his body.

how you will estimate Iron Man power- with or without suit? armor its just another weapon...

i really like example of Thanos fight used by you- i don't remember fist fight there, just Thanos and his weapon vs. Galactus.

As far as Galactus goes both Darkseid and Thanos have fought him to a standstill. In both instances Galactus was weak with hunger (see Thanos ongoing #6 and Darkseid/Galactus). In Annihilation Thanos also turned a weakened Galactus into a weapon. Now in DC vs Marvel Thanos and Darthingskseid also fought to a standstill.

Overall Thanos' strongest asset is his mind. He wouldn't take on someone like Darkseid without studying him first. He's like an evil cosmic Batman in that respect. However, Thanos loses if he unconsciously allows it (unless it's a clone - see Thor vol 2 #20-25, Xman/Hulk annual '96, Kazar #8 or 9).

Darkseid's greatest strength is his sheer power and endless hordes. That alone makes him formidable. But he's been out thought many times (see various issues of Superman, Jack Kirby's Fourth World, Genesis, JLA: Rock of Ages, Final Crisis). Darkseid's biggest weakness though is that he won't ask for help. This is true for pre or post crisis Darkseid. Thanos will seek aid and always has plans within plans. So I think if these two fictional characters had to fight for some reason it would be a long game with wins and losses on both sides. But ultimately Thanos would win. That's just my take.

And apparently my phone thought Darthingkseid sounded better than Darkseid. I should also add that I think Darkseid wins on the coolness factor.

Superman's cells are, but sun energy is not part of his biology. just like IG is not part of Thanos. but his brain is, and this brain gave him IG, just like cells provide external sun energy for Superman.

"In this case, we're talking about Thanos and Darkseid WITH NO TOYS whatsoever."

no, we are talking who would win. no even world about toys. just take strongest Darkseid and think how he can beat guy who destroyed universe. simply like that. Godlike creature vs. Universum Killer.

yeah Thanos is much smarter than Darkseid. I'd give him the edge because oh his intellect.

@MartianAbominationClone no superman wouldn't be a hero. Hence why Wonder Woman has said that he is just brute strength and she is able to best him in a fight because of her training i.e. "Muscle Memory" (which doesn't actually exist. Superman doesn't use any of this so called training (you claim he has) in any of his fights.

I wouldn't call the Infinity Gauntlet a toy because it gives the user power over all existence basically. Time, Space, Reality, Power, Mind, and Soul with it Thanos wiped out half of all existence with a thought.
