JUSTICE LEAGUE: WAR's Shemar Moore "Is Aiming To Be" Cyborg In A Live-Action Movie

That's right, we finally have an actor who has put themselves forward to bring 'Cyborg' (a fan favourite since Flashpoint and the launch of "The New 52") to life on the big screen.

"I am so excited by this just because it’s fun doing it," Shemar Moore told iamROGUE in a recent interview about voicing 'Cyborg' in Warner Bros.' upcoming Justice League: War animated feature. "I wasn’t a big comic book guy. What I like about Cyborg is I got to do this about a year ago for the first time, really a fish out of water. I had no idea, the offer came to me to be the voice of Cyborg. He’s this half black, half white human, but he’s half machine, half human because of an accident that happened to him. But he’s a black superhero. But I like that he’s a bi-racial superhero because I’m bi-racial. The president of the United States is bi-racial." So, it's clear that learning about the character for this movie - which is based on the events of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's first Justice League arc in "The New 52" - has given him a passion for the character; so much so in fact that he'd like to play him on the big screen!

"I’d be a liar if I didn’t say I have a fantasy or wish that [hopefully] I should be able to play Cyborg in a feature film," he revealed. "I’d love it if they were able to do something with the Justice League to where I could join a group of actors and go out there and be Cyborg. This is just the beginning, but this is another avenue of entertainment that I now get in to play in and I really had a ball. Once they showed me the ropes and what it was, it was one of the most fun things that I’ve done as far as performing." With a Justice League movie seemingly on the way after Zack Snyder's Batman/Superman hits in 2015, there's nothing to say that the studio aren't already giving some consideration to which actors could bring the superhero team to life alongside Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck. The fact that he's already voiced Cyborg could of course go in Moore's favour... ""If I could get out there and play Cyborg, that’s the ultimate goal. It’s an honor to play a part of the Justice League family and to be on these DVDs, but I would be a liar if I said I’m not aiming to be Cyborg in a feature film."

I don't know why but I was never really into the character of cyborg... Perhaps I might have to read some of his New 52 story arcs instead. They're really doing it big!

@bluman
Well, duh. The Teen Titans had a very popular kid's show so there are a number of young people who can recognize someone like Cyborg or Raven or Starfire. Contrast that Stephanie Brown or Cassie Cain have never had any presence outside of comics.

Haha!! Funny but sadly very true.

As far as I now Cyborg is not mixed. And I've been following the character since his debut in new teen titans.

I'm not aware that Cyborg is bi-racial. But, then, I don't think we've ever seen his mother. Still, he's always been presented as a Black man in both comics and other media (games, TV, cartoons).

true dude is old...43 years old
i for one dont mind him playing cyborg def. not a solo just for the fact that hes too old
but if he was younger than yes def. bring on the solo film
i can also see him as cyborg in the justice league movie! IF they include cyborg
ppl are so quick to judge or give shit to actors man
this guy is a DECENT actor...he isnt BIG BIG in hollywood like most actors but he can act thats the good thing i would rather have some1 who can act than a newbie who cant act at all..

travis van winkle for the flash!!!

SnapperCarr
SnapperCarr - 9/12/2013, 6:10 PM
@DioFoRio THat doesn't make him a fan favorite character.

@LittleDanglyThing

The Justice League cartoon show SHOULD NOT be the roster for a Justice League movie. Its already stupid how so many people think that's the roster and DC is doing a lot to erase that, but you have to go with the originals. Hawkgirl was a g-lister before the show, and even after the show, she has ZERO significance in the DCU. Wally West works better as a legacy character, which means he has to come after Barry Allen. DC is not going to use John when Geoff Johns made Hal into one of their top sellers and he has the most connectipons to the various aspects of the GL mythos. What significant thing has John done except appear in the cartoon show? Blow up a planet?

I don't see why Cyborg would have that look anymore in the comics--there are all kinds of cyborgs and full android types in comics that can look exactly like humans if they wish (Vision, Brainiac, etc), so why does he still look like that?

I really like how Cyborg's developed in the new 52.
Contrast that to stupid characters like Stephanie Brown and Cassie Cain who only watered down the Bat family, and i know who'd i'd prefer on screen first.

Shemar Moore's a good actor and ver handsome too. The only thing is, i'd rather Cyborg be in his early 20's.
