John Roimita Jr. Confirms KICK-ASS 2 Will Shoot Next Year

We have already heard from Mark Miller on this, but according to John Romita Jr., Kick Ass 2 will indeed start shooting this Summer for a May 2013 release! Chloe Moretz's participation still up in the air.

If you are a fan of John Romita Jr., then you are probably aware of his attempt to break the world's record for signing autographs in Las Vegas. During this world record attempt, a facebook user got to ask Romita about the status of the second Kick-Ass movie.

Unlike Mark Millar, he gave some very definite sounding information. According to Romita the deals have been signed and the production will ramp-up this Summer for a May 2013 release.

The one thing on everyone's mind is the status of Chloe Moretz. Will she be in the movie? She has grown up quite a bit since the first film and may not fit into role that she had. There is also the fact that she is looking to fit The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea onto her calendar somewhere this year, after filming Carrie in June.

I guess the producers could pull a Don Cheadle and replace her with another up-and-comer though.

Also of note is the fact that the film may contain an animated sequence which Romita also said that he’d like to take charge of for the film, but the details of that are still up in the air.

Stay tuned for more information as it develops...

The comic was no where near as good as the original series. It was lacking alot of depth.

Awesome. Loved the first movie, though I thought part 2 of the comic was weaker than the first. Thanks for posting.

@cherrybomb

Chloe is too cute for Carrie, but Olsen is too old.

The point of the character was that she was naturally an odd looking outcast.
Unless its going to be a Charlize monster quality performance it seems so contrived to 'ugly-up' an actress for a role like that.

Though saying that, she was great in Marcy may
And I'm sure she will be again in oldboy

@Just1Superguy

the move never sucked. Mark Strong not always in bad movies have u forget he was in "RocknRolla", "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy", etc. yeah i agree Green Lantern and John Carter failed but he done alot of solid movies.

@Slaine

Don Cheadle was in Iron Man 2.

Kickass was the first movie I have seen where I completely liked the movie over the source material. And I am a huge stickler for sticking true to the source material, so that's saying something.

The more I watch the movie, the less I have interest in rereading the comic, it just can't compare

I agree with Grayfox one of few movies to be better than the source material. And Moretz did basically rock the first movie like a boss.

Jeez just look at all the bobbleheads on that cover. Junior NEEDS to learn how to draw to scale. Plus the rectangular fingers and fish lips still piss me off.
