According to Deadline, Morris Chestnut has landed a "strong role" in Kick-Ass 2, playing "the guardian for the young butt kicker played by Chloe Moretz". Now as we know, that would be Hit Girl's late father's former partner Marcus Williams, played by Omari Hardwick in the first movie. Chestnut was last seen on the big screen in Think Like A Man, but will be more familiar to sci-fi/horror fans from his tv appearances in the likes of V and American Horror Story

The site also reveal that British actor Robert Emms (Warhorse, Anonymous) will play "Insect Man", a former cop who became a hero after becoming disillusioned by the lack of competence in the police department and joined Kick-Ass's Justice Forever team.

Jeff Wadlow will direct Kick-Ass 2, which will begin shooting this September in Toronto and London, and now has an official release date (find that out below). Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are all set to return, and we had our first new cast additions in John Leguizamo and Donald Faison. A casting call has also gone out for the character "Mother Russia", so expect a bit of news on that soon enough.

My problem is that not only does he make bad movies but that he makes bad movies that enforce stereotypes, and when he´s called out on that he says that the people who said that are just jealous, and his fans call you a racist...

If he wants to help the african-american community like he claims he should actually put some work on the movies.

He ad-libs most of his Madea scene ffs, but what ultimately pisses me off is that the majority of the people that go see these movies are black people that think that they´re helping their community, but the truth is that they´re just prepetuating the creation of bad movies where the characters are no more than caricatures of themselves.

Morris Chestnut has never been in a Tyler Perry moive.Think like a man was based off of a book by the comedian Steve Harvey and directed by the FF bomer Tim Story. Also he was in a crap fest of a movie called Half Past Dead. So he may need a movie like KA2 to boost his career.

I thought Perry directed Think Like A Man? My mistake then. Anyway, Kick-Ass 2 is still by far the highest profile, and unless it is an ABSOLUTE pile of shit, best movie the guy has ever been attached to.

Goddamnit, I was hoping for Omari to return. He was perfect for Marcus.

I hate recasts.

I always thought Chestnut would have made the perfect War Machine! He has been acting since 92 Boyz in The Hood which is a classic.

@Norris Thats your opinion and you're free to it. =D but understand its a cultural thing, some peole can relate to what Tyler Perry does and others can not. The good thing is there is something for everyone! Thats what makes earth so Awesome. If we were all the same we'ld be like Sardines! Live your life Mr. Chestnut!

Sure, Chestnut for Luke Cage and find a guy for Ironfist and maybe, maybe give Brett Ratner the keys for a buddy cop movie much like Rush Hour but more serious in tone. Not X-men serious as we might run into problems (X3), but not so toned back that we get Rush Hour 3.

Huh, huh?
