Merry Christmas! We hope you're all enjoying the holidays today, but while there's little in the way of news at this time of year, the rest of 2022 has still been incredibly busy.
Needless to say, we want to thank you all for remaining loyal visitors to ComicBookMovie.com and if, by some chance, this is your first time here, welcome. As the headline makes clear, we've taken a look through how all the articles on the site performed in 2022 to bring you a ranking of the 10 most-viewed news stories published.
Why is this important? Well, it shows what you were most interested in or excited to read about! We have a feeling you'll be surprised by some of the movies, TV shows, and rumours that made the cut, especially as they prove there's so much more to CBM than just Marvel and DC.
To find out what your most-viewed stories of the year were on CBM, simply click on the "Next" button below! And, again, thanks for checking back here and making the site the internet's #1 destination for all things comic books and superheroes.
We bid farewell to Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame, but a rumour he'll return as Tony Stark in Avengers: Secret Wars generated heaps of interest among fans.
It's unclear what role he'll play in the story, but the hero's daughter, Morgan Stark, is also being lined up to "return...in a big way." This movie feels like the best possible place to bring Downey back, though who knows which Variant of the Armoured Avenger he'll play in 2026.
Why was this story such a hit? Well, because we all want more Iron Man in the MCU!
We're not going to spend too much time talking about the (mostly) unfair criticisms aimed at She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, but we can surely all agree that Ginger Gonzaga was a lot of fun to spend time with as Nikki Ramos.
In "The People Vs. Emil Blonsky," Nikki told Jennifer Walters that she planned to get Wong's attention with a thirst trap photo showing her looking undeniably gorgeous alongside some books. We never got to see that in the show, but Gonzaga took to social media to recreate the shot as a way of having fun with fans.
The photo received a lot of attention...as did the books the actress had chosen to highlight!
We still don't know if or when Zendaya will return as MJ following last December's Spider-Man: No Way Home, but the actress spent much of 2022 shooting Dune: Part 2.
When cameras were rolling in Abu Dhabi, Zendaya - who plays Chani in the sci-fi franchise - took to social media to share a jaw-dropping set photo that understandably turned a lot of heads. We think it's fair to say that Tom Holland is a very, very lucky man.
Dune remains one of the most popular properties covered on CBM, though we'd recommend bookmarking SFFGazette.com for the latest updates on the sequel.
Ahead of The Boys season 3's premiere earlier this year, Prime Video hyped the series up by releasing a trailer for the in-universe movie, Dawn of The Seven.
Quite clearly a parody of Zack Snyder's Justice League - it's even referred to as "The Bourke Cut" - we're not surprised many of you were excited to take a look at the trailer. The show itself revealed more of the movie, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Charlize Theron even showing up for a cameo!
Of all the TV shows we covered in 2022, The Boys easily received the most love from you guys.
Ms. Marvel scored positive reviews and, aside from some underwhelming villains, it was a great show. However, you guys do occasionally enjoy some bad news, and that was definitely the case here.
Despite that early buzz, the show struggled to attract a large audience on Disney+. Now, a series like this isn't going to live or die based on how a premiere did during its first five days on the platform, but it seems Marvel Studios struggled to generate interest in Kamala Khan's debut.
Once The Marvels is released, we're positive Ms. Marvel's viewership will only further increase, with a season 2 sure to be announced somewhere down the line.
We were on hand to cover this year's D23 Expo in person, and while we brought you all the latest news from the event, many of you understandably kept your eyes peeled on this live blog.
Unfortunately, we didn't get any Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four, or X-Men updates, but we got some huge trailers - including Werewolf by Night and Secret Invasion - along with release date news. Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts also received the spotlight, with the team set to feature in the latter also shown off to the world.
Marvel Studios brought the big guns to Comic-Con, but D23 was still an event that left MCU fans excited for the future.
If we're being totally honest, the "Herogasm" episode of The Boys was a tad overhyped. The real highlight was seeing Billy Butcher and Soldier Boy squaring off with Homelander, as opposed to the sexual shenanigans that, while hilariously wild, were actually a little tame.
Still, we didn't know that when this teaser was released, and we're not surprised many of you were eager for a sneak peek!
"Herogasm" definitely delivered some moments we won't forget (look no further than the shot above for proof of that) and we're positive season 4 of The Boys will up the ante. After all, this is one of the most f***ed up superhero series on TV.
Letitia Wright came under fire for sharing some controversial anti-vax material on social media, prompting speculation to run rampant that she might be phased out of the Black Panther sequel.
When it was revealed Marvel Studios had scheduled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reshoots for September, fans immediately started speculating about what it could mean for the movie. This story came at a time when fresh claims about Wright's behaviour on set emerged, so we get why you guys were intrigued.
Now the sequel has been released, we've seen Wright's phenomenal performance and her co-stars have debunked these claims. We'll leave it down to you to decide whether that's damage control or if the actress was unfairly targeted.
Ezra Miller (who uses the "they/them" pronouns) has made a lot of headlines this year, but not because The Flash finally races into theaters next June.
The actor's personal problems are too bizarre and varied to cover here, but they've become a problem for Warner Bros. and supposedly agreed to seek help once the DC Comics movie's fate was put on the line. This bizarre report gained more attention that the rest, and we're guessing it was down to their alleged attack on Elvis star Austin Butler.
Our excitement for The Flash has definitely lessened thanks to Miller's actions, and the sooner the movie is out and done with, the better.
Following Henry Cavill's return as Superman in Black Adam following a five-year absence, you were all keen to learn what had led to that and the actor's five-year absence from the DCEU.
This story confirmed that money was the reason for him not appearing in Shazam!, prompting former Warner Bros. Chairman Toby Emmerich to declare, "Henry Cavill is now persona non grata, he’s not gonna play ball with the studio? He will never be Superman again."
After that, Cavill's Superman was put on the shelf. Now, his time as the Man of Steel has ended, anyway, with the cameo proving to be little more than a tease for a future that won't come to fruition under DC Studios' purview.
