SONY's fourth entry in the Men in Black franchise is heading into production next month and it has now been confirmed that the film will reunite Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. We also have, courtesy of Omega Underground, our first information regarding the plot of the upcoming film.

The spin-off fwill see Thompson's character "Em" on a journey to prove herself by joining the London branch of the MIB, where she is partnered with "former ace" MIB agent "H" (Chris Hemsworth). The pair then find themselves embroiled in a murder mystery that will see them traveling the globe,

This confirms previous reports that the movie would be "an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scale". While there's no word on any other cast members to fill out the F. Gary Gray directed project, with the film starting in London and traveling the world we're more than likely to meet various international MIB agents along the way.

The new Men in Black comes from a script by Iron Man writers Matt Holloway and Art Meachum. it's currently set for release on June 14th 2019.

What do you think? Are you excited for a new Men in Black film? Where would you like to see the franchise go? Leave your thoughts below.

These two are gold together. So...at least there's that.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - I wonder if it will still be called "men" in black if Tessa is the lead?

@mastakilla39 - Men In Black is the name of the organization. They had women on the team the the first trilogy too.

They’re both fantastic actors, let’s just hope they have decent material to work with

MiB is a classic and ages so well. Was not interested in this until I saw Hemsworth attached and now Thompson too. This has a chance to be pretty good, and i'm cautiously optimistic.

@Menks123 - It's a crime that we haven't gotten one of these movies every few years. The first two were good and the third was a dud because they gave Will Smith too much creative control. Rotate agents and actors regularly to give new talent a chance to shine.

Why are there different earth based branches?
Shouldnt MIB just consist of humans and not be specific to where they're from?

@Kevwebsz - I guess because aliens can land all over? We saw n other films that the MIB work as a customs for aliens coming to stay and visit here, Earth doesn't have one airport.

The first MIB is great, and I actually really enjoyed the third movie. The ending was surprisingly sad and heartfelt when you find out K ended up taking care of J after his father was killed.

This movie sounds like it has potential. And I’m so glad they decided against that MIB/21 Jump Street crossover.

@BigPhilbowski - I'm wondering the same thing ... I'd imagine that they tried to "make it happen" for so long now that they feel like the time has come and passed ..
