To those of us disappointed with how the three-and-three-four inch toys that Hasbro has made for Marvel's toys, and to those of us who are HUGE fans of the "Marvel Legends" toy line, there is wonderful news today. The site Marvelous News has just been updated with photos from Hong Kong of six-inch toys for "The Avengers" that will be hitting shelves as Walmart Exclusives. The release date for the toys seems to be late April/May, in time for the film's release, and we got to see photos for some of them previously at last year's New York Comic Con. While there is no Black Widow pictured, she may be part of the line. The first six figures are new sculpts for Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Hawkeye and Loki, while Iron Man and Thor are based on past six-inch figures but updated with some tweaking, such as Thor missing his helmet now.
Current prices of Marvel Legends toys at Walmart cost about $15 to $18 a pop, a crime considering that just a decade ago, Toy Biz gave us #8 per Marvel Legends toy. God, I miss Toy Biz. As much as I am skeptical of Hasbro's Marvel toys, I have to admit that I think these looks pretty dang good. Will any of you be coughing up $18 per Marvel Legends toy at your local Walmart this spring? What do you guys think of the figures?
