Tom Cruise Becomes A Monster In The Intense Final Trailer For THE MUMMY

With tickets about to go on sale, Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for their upcoming Tom Cruise-led monster movie, The Mummy, and it's easily the best (and most intense) one yet!

"It takes a monster to defeat a monster."

A new age of Gods and Monsters is nearly upon us and earlier today, Universal Pictures debuted the third and final theatrical trailer for the first installment in their burgeoning Dark Universe: The Mummy.

Tom Cruise takes center stage as Nick Morton, who, as the trailer reveals, will indeed be cursed by Sofia Boutella's title character for an evil purpose and will have to embrace his inner monster to take her down. Whether this means Cruise will take on a Van Helsing-esque role moving forward into future monster movies is yet-to-be-seen, but it is certainly a possibility that can't be ruled out.

Check out the final trailer below:

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The Mummy features:
Director: Alex Kurtzman
Tom Cruise as Nick Morton
Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet/The Mummy
Annabelle Wallis as Jenny Halsey
Jake Johnson as Sgt. Vail
Courtney B. Vance as Colonel Gideon Forster
Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll/Mr. Hyde
Javier Botet as Set
Selva Rasalingam as King Menehptre
Dylan Smith as Lorenzo Montanari
Rez Kempton as Foreman
Chasty Ballesteros as Kira Lee
Marwan Kenzari as Agent of Prodigium
Alaa Saif as Sickle Slave

"WITNESS THE BEGINNING OF A DARK UNIVERSE"

....err.....actually Dracula Untold was advertised by Universal as the Beginning of this Universal Monsters Universe, only they'd like you to forget that - was with it utterly bombing at the box-office and making a loss.

@MUTO123 - I almost didn't click because of that thumbnail, but that looks really interesting. Lots of known actors and director of Snowpiercer.

@LeeroyJenkins - Finally some sanity! What a horribly made trailer. No pacing, just the same repetitive beat, with the same shots from the other trailers.

Trailers seem to suggest that there's not much of a story here. Either they are hiding it really well, or this is not a very well made film.

I've like some of Tom Cruise's recent stuff like Ghost Protocol and Edge of Tomorrow but something about this is not grabbing me. I think the problem that it's a reboot of a franchise that I never cared for.

This trailer might've shown a tad too much. I'm still going to go see it though. Movies nowadays are showing WAY TOO much in these trailers. You can watch just about the whole movie in the trailers.

I feel like it will at least be better than Dracula Untold, but that's not really saying much.

Are you going to give it a watch for the hell of it, or pass on it? I liked the classic movie monsters when I was a kid, and the idea of seeing them all crossover in a movie ala Avengers is something that greatly interests me.

I just hope this movie turns out good, because if it doesn't, I think Universal well go back to the drawing board again, which means many more years of waiting for them to kick off the classic monsters shared universe.

I know it would've never happened, but I wish that they'd kept the mummy wrapped until most of the way through the pic. Then, reveal him to be Brendan Fraiser. O'Connell became the mummy somewhere along his adventures. paying homage to the Fraiser mummy movies.
