Variety is reporting that Walt Disney Pictures is in negotiations with Zoe Green to write the screenplay based on an original idea she developed with the studio on gargoyles.

The project will not be tied to the popular Gargoyles animated series that Disney produced in the 1990s, or a comic book that was later produced by series creator Greg Weisman.

"Instead, it centers around a world and mythology that the studio was keen to explore." Sources said. Green came up with the idea with Disney exec LouAnne Brickhouse, who is producing the project at the studio.

DANG! You beat me to it! :D
But I don't think this is really going to be an adaptation. It might or might not be because they really didn't say whether or not it was related to the TV series. Can't believe this happened to me, LOL.

Lame... this isn't about Gargoyles the show at all. Lame. The title is purposely mis-leading.

if it's not an adaptation of the show I could care less, but then again i probably still wouldn't care even if it was, Gargoyles was an epic show till Disney got a hold of it then it just went down hill, it was pretty good in the beginning when it was finishing off the arc that got cut off during it's run on Fox but once they got back to New York the show just went down.

Only thing i hated was Goliaths and his daughters time traveling episodes!! I dont remember how many time traveling episodes there was, but i can say there were many! F*ck i hated them!!:/
If Disney decides to bring the show to the big screen! I hope they leave that f*cking time traveling sh*t out!
