DC Entertainment's WE CAN BE HEROES is a campaign to promote awareness of starvation in the Horn of Africa, and generate funds to help combat it. For more information, please visit the WEBSITE.

Jim Lee was on hand for the unveiling of Kia's custom Optima, which was crafted from the artist's own designs.

Automoblog.net has the specs:

"A matte and piano black paint scheme covers the sedan that is now accented with a body kit. The car’s ride height has been lowered for a more aggressive profile by a coil-over suspension system. Ksport performance brakes, custom 20-inch black wheels and a performance-tuned exhaust are other modifications which make a relatively mild-mannered Kia Optima SX Limited a potentially elusive presence when daylight drops. Bright yellow exterior LED lighting along the lower surface of the sedan brings illumination to the dark night, along with HID headlamps that now project the bat signal.

A custom interior for the vehicle carries on the superhero persona. Black leather and suede with yellow stitching shapes the seating, adorned with bat insignia. A pair of front seat headrest-installed video screens greet rear seat passengers with a special video presentation highlighting the African hunger crisis that provoked the WE CAN BE HEROES campaign. Other Batman touches that adorn the custom Kia Optima SX include throwing stars installed in the center console area and a full Bat suit located in the trunk."

Kia's Batman themed Optima is only the first of eight custom cars the company is creating, each based on a different member of the Justice League.

All for charity and everything, but I hope the shape of the grill doesn't foreshadow the rest of the design. Lame was the first word that came to mind when I saw it, but the Bat symbol in the middle looks good.

While it does in fact look pretty cool, the car is pretty crappy.
I've always said KIA stands for Killed In Accident.
....I've got my own comedy central special coming up, thanks.

So it's a nice car with Bat Symbols on it. Okay. I mean, cool and all but I'd just as soon have the car sans all that stuff. Maybe I watched too much American Chopper in the 00's and it's desensitized me to the "wow factor" of something like this.

Ha! Best joke all day.

It'd be better if it wasn't a cheap Jap job.

@ Pux, please explain how they're so inefficient compared to Japanese cars? You know they all borrow parts (usually mechanically) from each other right?
