Norman Osborn, the man who nearly destroyed the Avengers, is back! With the remnants of H.A.M.M.E.R back in action, led by the former Green Goblin, the New Avengers ready themselves for an explosive clash they won’t soon forget.

“Every single panel is so filled with life and vitality. The most diehard Neal Adams fans will be blown away because you are seeing things you have not seen from him before,” said Bendis in an interview with Marvel.com. “You will be begging for a Neal Adams Iron Fist book when you see this issue.”

Osborn has had plenty of time plotting his revenge on the New Avengers, and finally he’ll be able to unleash the full fury of his followers on the team! When the dust settles, Norman’s dark hand (and Dark Avengers?!) will be revealed! The next great New Avengers epic begins in a way only Bendis and Adams can deliver this September in New Avengers #16.1!

The thing I have with Bendis's Avengers is that many of his additions to the team could have led to some really interesting stories... but it's far less interesting when they all get put onto the team together. It's like... if Captain America were put on the X-men, that could potentially be a really interesting story. But if Captain America, Hulk, the Silver Surfer, Daredevil and Wolverine were simply launched as "The New X-Men" then it's such a radical departure as to be meaningless.

Neal Adams' style belongs to the 80's. And should stay there.

I love Adams' older stuff. Nobody could lay a page out like he did. A lot of his stuff in the 60s and 70s was truly groundbreaking. Sadly, Adams' newer stuff is awful, though. Another great artist who has just lost his touch. That Batman Odyssey book is among the worst Bat-stories I've ever seen, and the art looks like an first-year art student attempting to mimic Adams' style.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, because I haven't picked up a comic in a long time, but why are some of Marvel's comics labeled with a .1 after the issue number?

Before you guys go on sucking Adams dick just waste your time and money and pick one issue of his Batman: Odyssey (which he writes and draws).. and if you can still praise the guy after that...well..!

As a Batman fan I know Adams better than any of you. He was the most respected artist until he decided to venture into writing!!
So before you throw your half-wit quips and insults know what you're talking about.

I love Neal Adams. I always buy anything he does. I've waited year for him to do more than a cover here or there.

@Nephillim: Actually to be honest, I have to say.. the man was really friendly when I talked to him a couple of years ago, and he had no qualms discussing his work with me.
But I couldnt actually care less about him as a person as much as I care about his work... Of course as an artist the man remains untouched but AGAIN as a writer he's AWEFUL!

@MoumentheBatman - Hmmm, a Batman fan that thinks he knows everything, whodathunkit?

Dude, we are only talking about Adams' artwork, not his writing. And what makes you think you know more than anyone else on here? Anyone of us could be a bigger Neal Adams fan than you.

Just because he worked on Batman comics doesn't make you the end-all be-all Neal Adams authority because of that. What about his X-Men fans? Deadman fans? Green Lantern fans? Superman fans? Or what about fans of war comics and horror comics he worked on?

Seeing all these old stuff makes me miss the art of Jerry Bingham.
