New Set Pic From Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D TV Series

"No Weapons Or Alien Tech Beyond This Point." Aside from that brief glimpse from the Agent M vid, this is our first look at an image directly from the set of the currently shooting S.H.I.E.L.D show. Check it out after the jump..

This isn't much, but it's better than watching Agent M talk to dustbins in one of those Marvel vids that's for sure! Show producer Maurissa Tancharoen Tweeted out the following snap of a warning poster we can probably expect to see adorning the walls of the S.H.I.E.L.D building.

No date set for the pilot episode yet, but we know it'll air on ABC, and will star Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons and Iain De Caestecker Agent Leo Fitz. Keep an eye on CBM for more updates, as we are very slowly but surely starting to get more of a glimpse into what's going on down at that set.

this show has so much potential they could introduce a new hero/villain every week or say we need a reason to send the hulk into space for planet hulk movie to work maybe that can be something that is explored in this show.

Glad they're using the old school SHIELD Logo. Hopefully they switch to that in the next Avengers film when on the Hellicarrier.

I do like the modern one, but that one is way cooler.

Looking forward to this show. With the reference to Alien tech, looks like they're not shying away from the super-fanastic.

Alien tech? I hope we see Skrulls on this show!

What would worry me is if that sign said, "No pants beyond this point." :P

I don't think that they'll use the show to lead into any of the movies, the show is just a behind the scenes kind of thing. They'll still want the movies to stand on their own.

The show should introduce Coulson as Vision, and have him be the intelligence source for the agent's missions, In a test flight of sorts before A2. And as for villains, the rise of A.I.M. or The Leader. And if this is as linked to phase 2 as I hope it is then I don't see why all the star actors from the films can't be featured in limited capacities as cameos. Hasten the casting of Ultron, Antman and Wasp to create a world in which they exist without divulging too much. This show could bring the MCU down to Earth even with major villains. It appears as the movie verse has gone the uber cosmic route but with Thor in Asgard and Iron Man in space and Cap. Am. on a lengthy mission, A.I.M., the Leader and co. could make an impression on S.H.I.E.L.D. It could build up to M.O.D.O.K. Or a group of villains under the Leader, both would be better presented in a drawn out fashion as opposed to a single 2h film.

We rather like Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson and are glad to see him back for more. It looks like Cobie Smulders might also have at least a guest appearance to reprise her Agent Maria Hill role. She's a fetching woman and her small role in Avengers was a nice touch.

My prediction about SHIELD's plot. Sometime before THE AVENGERS, Agent Coulson tells Fury of his intention to retire. Fury agrees, but then gets an idea: what if they fake his death to get all the Avengers onboard? Fury tells Coulson to hang tight until the right opportunity arises.

When the Helicarrier is attacked, Fury gives Coulson the signal. Coulson retrieves his Life Model Decoy, and controls it from another room. LMD dies, and Coulson slips away, a ruse well done.

Coulson is enjoying his retirement when he gets a call Fury or Hill. SHIELD needs him again, for something more clandestine. So begins the show.

Let's say that hypothetically Coulson returning doesn't have anything to do with LMDs or Vision in the context of this post...

Would people be alright with the LMD angle? I.e. Coulson is actually alive because of something to do with Life Model Decoys. Or is there an alternate explanation that some had already pegged way back...

Maybe all we find out for now is the paramedics were already on the scene but they weren't needed... Leading many to speculate for a while on what actually happened before it's revealed it didn't have anything to do with LMD's or Coulson becoming vision.

Would people be alright with Coulson becoming Vision?
I think they can do better than that.
Think bigger.

In some ways I think he could still be the real Captain M in disguise and we're supposed to love Capt Mar-vell as they prepare to bring him back. Alongside Miss Marvel in this universe... and thrown back into the Marvel Now! comics after age of Ultron when Infinity starts.

It would be classic Whedon if he simply started the show with Coulson alive, with no explanation whatsoever. The reason for his return could be an ongoing mystery until halfway through the first season or, heck, maybe not until the season finale.

It's tough to come up with mythologies, especially when you're dealing with an established universe, so I'm sure they're milking every opportunity for a long-running mystery on the show.
