New Trailer & Poster For Ridley Scott's EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS

"He defied an empire & changed the world." A third (supposedly final) trailer for Ridley Scott's ambitious looking biblical epic has hit. See Christian Bale (The Dark Knight trilogy) wage war on Joel Edgerton (Warrior) to free his people after the jump.

From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure Exodus: Gods and Kings, the story of one man's daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 400,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

The film stars Christian Bale as Moses, Joel Edgerton as Ramses, Aaron Paul as Joshua, John Turturro as Seti, Sigourney Weaver as Tuya, Ben Mendelsohn as Hegep and Ben Kingsley as Nun. Exodus: Gods and Kings hits theatres on December 12.

Sad that religious movies always get so much hate for simply being aligned with a religion, this movie was made in a country which supports freedom of religion.

Still, I hate it's white washed

It's one of those movies where I like everyone involved, but I can't help but laugh when I see it in action. Bale as Moses and Edgerton as Ramses, I mean, seriously?

What a weird poster. The fact that the Bible says not a thing about Moses being a military man makes it weird, too, but I mean...the tornados look a little silly...
Also, the Book of Exodus doesn't begin to suggest any kind of revolution, or that Moses defied anyone. Moses and his brother and some Israelite elders approached Pharaoh and asked to be set free in God's name. Then God demanded their release, as we all know. The story is more about a human monarch (Pharaoh) defying an all-powerful God. So they're kinda missing all the main points, but, I kind of expect so much, I guess. Still looks like an impressive film, and I'm sure intrigued by how it'll unfold. -Also, as someone who's studied ancient Hebrew since he was like 8-years-old, I can tell anyone that the writing on the tablets shown is about 1000 years too late if, as it seems, it's from the Hasmonean period or maybe even later, but Hebrew in Moses or even King David's time didn't look like that, and even worse, whoever they consulted screwed up the order of the lines. The 2nd line should be the 3rd and the 4th line should be the 5th and (undoubtedly) so on! It's funny, but in Cecil B. DeMille's Ten Commandments, the entire 3rd commandment's missing, and the first commandment emblazoned into the stone isn't even a commandment. Hazard of the Moses movie trade, I guess...

There is absolutely no reason to use an all white cast to tell a story which occurred in Egypt thousands of years ago.

There is absolutely no reason why this director could not have used some Nubian looking actors, some current day Egyptian looking actors, some Arabian looking actors, some White actors, some Asian actors and some Native North American Indian actors in this movie.

If Idris Elba can have a serious role in the Thor movies, there is no reason why there cannot be a lot of diversity in the casting in a movie which occurs in Egypt and/or the surrounding area.

If you really have white-washed this movie, if it is really true, then shame on you Ridley Scott, because I honestly believed that you were better than this.

Oh and by the way, there seems to be current trend to have Caucasian actors play ancient Egyptians in the movies. Apparently Bryan Singer is following this trend with his casting for the character ‘Apocalypse’ in the next X-Men movie.
