According to The Hollywood Reporter, Saban is buying back The Power Rangers from Walt Disney. Nickelodeon will be the new home for the series as it heads into its 18th season and premiere in 2011.

Saban is also renewing its collaboration with Toei Company Ltd., the creator of the original Japanese series.

Many Power Rangers fans felt the show went downhill when Disney bought the franchise and longed for the days when Saban was running the show.

So what do you think? Are you happy The Power Rangers and Saban are coming back?

Jason appeared in the most seasons, 7 in total. MMPR (3 seasons), Zeo, Turbo, Wild Force, and Dino Thunder!

Well this is interesting. I thought they relinquished all the rights to Disney because Saban went Bankrupt.

also, they pretty much made all the other series in succession except the recent one where they had Kanji symbols on their helmets. I can't see how they will continue when Disney did it all. Well I was a fan of the old episodes, but I was a kid then. This is interesting. I wonder what Linkara's take on this is

I was 11 when Power Rangers debuted.I enjoyed the 3 seasons of Mighty Morphin and Zeo.I disliked Turbo.I returned to the series with Space, which redeemed the franchise after the much derided Turbo and gave the first generation a proper conclusion.I also liked Lost Galaxy. After that I left the series, only returning for Time Force and Dino Thunder.

I'm really not a fan of getting new rangers each season.I think it would be better if they kept the same cast when they change powers at the start of the season.I believe that's what led to the success of the original era.Why get attached to characters if they're only going to be around for a season.

The below is a article from TMZ about Jason David Frank.

Jean-Claude Van Damme -- the most badass fighting sensation of the 90s -- just got challenged to an MMA fight by a guy who used to fight puppets in spandex ... all over an incident from 15 years ago.

The guy issuing the challenge is former White Ranger Jason David Frank, who tells TMZ, he's had it out for Van Damme ever since 1995 when the Muscles from Brussels -- who had been Frank's childhood hero -- allegedly blew him off during the premiere of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie."

As TMZ previously reported, Frank is now a scary-looking MMA fighter who has a fight next weekend in the Octagon -- and Van Damme is reportedly looking to make his own pro fighting debut ... so the timing couldn't be better for Frank to settle the score.

Frank claims he'll take Van Damme "anytime, anyplace, anywhere" -- and "if [Van Damme's] too scared to come into the Octagon, I'll even take him on in a kickboxing match."

So far, no comment from Van Damme's camp.

JDF is undefeated in his first 3 matches. He's a 6th degree black belt and has learned many types of martial arts.

They sold it?????

Well after the last two movies, i gave up on POWER RANGERS, in fact only the first movie was any good in the whole franchise, and that wasn't too good either lol!

I remember a TURTLES cross over, i watch that, was kinda cool!

But the rest nah.

DYNAMO @ Welcome dude!!!

Yes, they use different footage for the suit action, but they don't have to change the actors/characters.Look at the first 5 seasons. They took footage from different Sentai seasons, but they kept the characters and storylines.

I always enjoyed the team up episodes. My favorite was the "Once A Ranger" episode that aired during the 15th anniversary season, Power Rangers Operation Overdrive. We got to see the return of Johnny Young Bosch as Adam! Alpha was back too! The villain was Thrax who was the son of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. Sorry, but the embedding for Part 4 was disabled for some reason.

Johnny young Bosch, has become the most famous Ranger only b/c of voice work, he has done so many Iconic characters over the years, right now he is Ichigo on Bleach which is amazing.

Adam and Tommy are my fav Rangers those two actors are the suff, and they have both showed that they are faithful to their roots by returning to the show for cameos and as a teacher/ new Ranger to next gen Rangers.

Has anyone seen Austin St. John recently? He became a paramedic and got very muscular. If you watch Forever Red, you'll notice he wasn't as agile as he used to be, do to his size.He did admit that his job required he put on more muscle and he wasn't exactly in Ranger form.
