The following photos come from Agan Harap's "Superhero" series, which consists of superheroes (and supervillains) manipulated into historical settings. The 29-year-old artist's uses Photoshop 7 to take a fresh look into history. I just found this to be an interesting twist to share with you all.

Batman's all business when he briefs a group of allied paratroopers at Greenham Common Airfield in England.

Spiderman aiding his fellow Americans at D-day.

Superman helps to recover stolen art from the Nazis

Hulk with the Afghan resistance fighters returning to a village destroyed by Soviet forces, 1986

"You're coming back to Gotham with me to see Harvey Dent"

"Why so serious?"

Roosevelt. Churchill. Stalin. Vader. Never has such a collection powerful leaders been assembled in one place.

This would be an interesting concept to use for the Avenger Art Contest.

Other than the Castro ones the pics seem too random. Why would the heroes be doing any of those things?

They're well done, but it'd make more sense to use photos from history(Captain America-Normandy Invasion, for example)that fit those characters, actually 'blending' them into the theme.
