As you may already know,
R.I.P.D. is based on the Dark Horse Entertainment comic book series. The movie adaptation will see character Nick Cruz, played by Ryan Reynolds, as a recently killed police officer who joins the force in order to try and find his own murderer. Robert Schwentke has signed up to direct, and Bridges will play Roy, a veteran member of the force.
Jeff Bridges has been cast alongside Ryan Reynolds in Universal's "R.I.P.D.," TheWrap has learned.
The Academy Award winner had been in negotiations to play a role that Zach Galifianakis that once been under consideration to play. Bridges will play a police officer in the Rest In Peace Department.
R.I.P.D. is set to be released sometime during 2012, although it's believed that could change depending on whether Reynolds is required to film a
Green Lantern sequel.
