First Official Logo For WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES; Special Announcement Forthcoming

About an hour ago, director Matt Reeves debuted the first official logo for 20th Century Fox's War For The Planet Of The Apes and the reveal came with a bit of a surprise attached to it - during this Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead, which is titled "Heads Up," there will be a very special announcement regarding the third Apes film, which just recently kicked off production in mid-October.

It's hard to say what the announcement might be as it could be a variety of things ranging from a full cast reveal to a synopsis to a brief teaser trailer to a first look poster to a behind-the-scenes video or even possibly to the announcement of a fourth film. Regardless, check out his tweet and the official logo below:

They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

War For The Planet Of The Apes will feature:
Director: Matt Reeves
Andy Serkis as Caesar
Woody Harrelson as the Colonel
Steve Zahn in an undisclosed role
Judy Greer as Cornelia
Karin Konoval as Maurice
Terry Notary as Rocket
Max Lloyd-Jones as Blue Eyes
Aleks Paunovic in an undisclosed role
Sara Canning in an undisclosed role
Gabriel Chavarria as Preacher
Chad Rook as Boyle
Amiah Miller in an undisclosed role

War For The Planet Of The Apes hits theaters July 14, 2017

Think all of these films have been outstanding. Fact that Andy Serkis is never nominated for any awards never mind winning is crazy, though films like these are never nominated for anything apart from graphics (annoyingly).

It's no worse than some of the previous titles, like 'Escape From The Planet Of The Apes' or 'Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes', which I both liked.

Really looking forward to where they take the series with this instalment.

The prequel Planet of the Apes series is the best film series nowadays. Seriously name me a current film series better than this series.

Still pissed they delayed this film for a suppose sequel to Fant4shit.

Dawn was okay. Rises was great.

Dawn was better the second time I watched it in several months because of the entire set up it was building upon. I still do favor Rises more but I actually got so much out of Dawn the second time I watched it.

"War...has...begun."

So, the announcement is that they'll be crossing over that WHICH series to create a "shared universal"?

If this is moving up to 2016, there's no way that Gambit and Wolverine 3 aren't moving back.

The Franco one was okay, the sequel was a pure bore-fest to me, couldn't even watch past an hour before anything else seemed a more interesting distraction (oh look, a dust mote!). So have absolutely no desire to see a third.

I'm really really really rooting for this one. The past two are really underrated and under talked, and they're both amazing.

The first one was really good, a great new and morden take on the first saga but then they screwed up. The sequel really got me disapointed, they totally lost the great vision behind the first one... Such a waist, this saga deserve better...
