Deadline reveals that Alcon Entertainment are in talks with Hampton Fancher to write a sequel to
Blade Runner. They confirm that the movie will be a follow-up to the 1982 classic (which starred Harrison Ford) and that it will take place several years after the original, confirming that it won't be a reboot or prequel. Fancher wrote the previous film, sharing a screenplay credit with David Peoples, and Sir Ridley Scott is expected to direct as has been previously reported. There are currently no details on a release date or what this could mean for the rumoured sequel to next month's
Prometheus.
