Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. The film is directed by Len Wiseman. The screenplay is by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and the screen story is by Ronald Shusett & Dan O'Bannon and Jon Povill. The producers are Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe.

Total Recall hits theaters August 3rd, 2012.

The so called "Original" was one hell of a cheesy, cheap looking scifi flick with one of the worst actors to sully the screen in the lead playing an American with his laughable Austrian accent yet again. The entire film looked like it was filmed inside a badly lit studio and the FX and set designs were offensively bad even for its time!

This re-adaptation of the book looks a lot more accurate and a helluva lot more better shot and designed than that cheese-fest with Arnie.

Yep...Got to say I think I agree with Ceejay on this one. I'm an 80's child and so have fond memories of that film. But this new one looks goood! Bring on the reboot, let's face it, Arnie has never really been an actor....The effects have aged badly in the original, especially when you compare it with Bladerunner, and interesting that someone mentioned Minority Report, because (and I think Ceejay might correct me if I'm wrong), but isn't that based on another Phillip K Dick story? So if it has a similar feel I'm OK with that!!!

Yeah I have to agree with Ceejay on that one, when is the last time any of you watched the original? I find that just because a movie starred Arnie and had action scenes people consider it some kind of classic..when most of the time it couldn't be further from the truth. Nostalgia is all well and good but a bad movie is still a bad movie, and Total Recall was rubbish imo.

But I have no faith in this new one either, clip looks decent but Len Wiseman is incapable of making a good movie. If I'm proved wrong then great, but until then I have no expectations.

True true true...It could be that they shot their load with the trailer. I've never read the original so I don't know how much from that trailer was copying the original movie and how much was actually in the text?

I have to say I agree.. I didn't like the original Recall. I remember watching it and halfway through I started to fast forward.

I lump that in with Batman and Robin, and Stallone's Dread. Arnold is best when he's Terminator... not alot of talking.

Good tries, but they missed very badly.

ror@ I watched it about three or four weeks ago and it was gooooood! Bought it for bluray. :)

This new version doesnt look that bad but i still prefer the Arnie version.
Just because i dig Arnie´s one liners, Freaky Mutants, Ironside as Richter and Sharon Stone´s hot body.

This looks better and less over-the-top than Arnies.
