This movie is such an OVER-performer. It's just not that good.
It had the perfect release date with no real competition & the heat of popularity from Chris Pratt really helped it.

I hope the new Terminator blows it off top spot. Watching killer robots do the same shit is incredibly better than boring dinosaurs doing the same shit they do. Can we get some originality anytime soon. This is annoying.

@Sting
What you say is true about people liking Jurrasic Park but the last film in the series just wasn't good & underperformed.
It's taken awhile to get them to make a new one..Pratt is a hot commodity & proves his worth,guarantee he helped sell tickets.

Some of you think Jurassic Park 3 did better than the previous two..it did NOT.
The franchise floundered or they would have kept going.
Only now,with a rising new action star in this action movie that it's doing good again.
Naturally the dinosaurs are the main draw but it's only aided by having Pratt in it.
That's why I stated that FACT in my first comment.
Just like Paul Walkers death aided Fast 7 box office..another FACT.
If just big lizards & fast cars sold tickets then neither franchise would have had downturns.
It takes something to boost the profile. I'm right,as usual.

People held Jurassic Park Lost World & 3 to such a high lvl which it failed to meet. There was also a huge interest in anything Michael Crichton. Time has soften original fans who crave the nostalgia of our youth. So we drag our kids to see the dinosaurs. The movie is a popcorn flick, and it's different something than Avengers. Mad Max had all those ingredients as well but it was rated R. Perfect storm Is all plus face it people love dinosaurs.

@Jollem

I've never seen you write anything meaningful on this site. It will be either trolling and posting thousands of images of unrelated stuff or some loong overthought and irrelevant story like your current post. You are probably some teen that is desperetly trying to look smart, but can't hide how dumb he really is and doesn't know sh*t about anything.

It's peaked. Jurassic World just over $1 billion will start cutting theaters rapidly.

Ant-Man, Terminator and more will replace it.

Avengers with nearly $1.4 billion has a much stronger global appeal.
