Listen To Coldplay's Song For THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE: "Atlas"

The first Hunger Games gave us an awesome tune called "Abraham's Daughter" from Arcade Fire, this time we get a...song from Coldplay. Ah no, it's actually not bad at all -- take a listen for yourselves after the jump..

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens November 22, 2013.

Not a fan of Coldplay but, it's better than pretty much everyone in pop, hip hop and rap (I don't consider rap to be a talent). Give me bands worth listening to like Theory of a Deadman, Stone Sour, Pop Evil and Shinedown just to name a few. Hell, maybe even Halestorm.

@Nightwing: Yes, Nickelback is the best band in the world.

Fun fact cause I felt one was needed, Abraham's Daughter lyrically is good but until I looked it up just a little bit ago, I didn't know it was a song with lyrics. Can never understand what Arcade Fire is saying and the song is overall, meh.

I'm not entirely sure on what basis the subheader seeks to downplay Coldplay. Perhaps someone could clear it up for me?

I saw Coldplay back when they were actually good, in 2000. Soon after, I realised they were just a watered down version of Sigur Ros who are just a watered down version of Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Coldplay seem like really nice guys, but the novelty wore off with the first album. There's just not much to them. They're so bland.
And since when were Coldplay NOT universaly ridiculed?

They're obviously a very talented bunch, their songs just don't do that much for me. One or two are good..I quite like this one I must admit.

What,Muse wasn't available?

I think the last soundtrack I actually bought was Alone In The Dark , mainly because it was really a Nuclear Blast/Century Media sampler masquerading as a soundtrack.

Someday, Amon Amarth WILL be on a Thor soundtrack....

Can't wait for their next album! I think some people forget their brilliant tracks such as "clocks", "speed of sound", "yellow" "Homecoming *Kanye West* and "viva la vida".

Never understood why people say things like you're "gay" if you like Coldplay.

Coldplay is one of the few bands these days that remains consistent in what they're trying to say.

So because there's no "bitch", "pussy", "tits", "ass", "[frick]", or any other curse words, Coldplay is for gays?

They write songs about love, family, and other ideas we can relate to.

Sad day in the world when this is frowned upon. More lil Wayne and Miley Cyrus then I guess.

Did anyone actually press [frick]ing play? The song is unreal. So good.

I don't like every single Coldplay song, but enough to say that I definitely like the band. "Viva La Vida" is probably my favourite, and there are few albums for me with as many memories attached as "A Rush of Blood to the Head".

Can't say much about Hunger Games. Read the first book, kinda understood the appeal and rather liked Katniss. The second book didn't do much for me and I never read the third. Haven't watched the first movie either so far, but I'm still planning to.

Coldplay is just like Nolan's Batman trilogy.
Incredibly awesome stuff that everyone recognises as such, but then it becomes cool to bash it an brag about how great you are because you're not into something that's "mainstream" like Coldplay.

EdgyOutsider, you say you don't consider rap a talent. My question to you is how?

There are garbage artists just like any other genre, but there are clear standouts who have great messages and skill in crafting their songs.

I'm really sick of people trying to quantify what is and isn't music or talent. It's silly.

I actually liked this song btw, but then I'm not like most people on the internet who don't don't like anything.

@Haven: I just don't consider rap as a talent. Honestly, if it is a talent then all the rappers should look to Dr. Seuss cause he rapped in all of his books. Just my opinion.
