During the year 1999, a man named Thomas Anderson (also known as Neo), lives an ordinary life. A software techie by day, computer hacker by night. He sits alone at home by his monitor, waiting for a sign, a signal - from what or whom he doesn't know - until one night, a mysterious woman named Trinity seeks him out introducing him to the faceless character he has been waiting for, Morpheus. A messiah of sorts, Morpheus presents Neo with the truth about his world by shedding light on the dark secrets that have troubled him for so long.

still not sure if Matrix was a rip off of Adam Wiśniewski book called "Snerga". Never red it, can't confirm or denied it either.

People who were born in 90's seems to have better understanding for Matrix sequels.

I was born in 89...surprise surprise.....and thought the sequels were garbage. Must of been round 10 for the first Matrix...blew my mind.....however i fell asleep during 'Reloaded'.

Honest trailers never fail to amuse me....BEWBS

The Matrix - That movie was the shit. Came out of the cinema wanting to run up walls and crap.

@TopCat89

i knew a bunch of people who were born in the 90's. They seemed to be really fascinated with those sequels. Weird, isn't it ?

I - on the other hand - am not a big fan.
I think first Matrix is rather overated movie. It was cool little movie once it came out, but as the time goes by ...
It's a rather medicore flick.

@jerryblake

I think the long over the top cgi fights were the main draw for a young audience.

I personally thought the first movie was pretty incredible first time viewing...then again i was 10....however since unfortunately watching the sequels and coming across many other films using similar styles etc....the love for it has been tainted, it doesn't stand out to me anymore.
