Mattel Said To Be Putting A DINO-RIDERS Movie Into Development

It was probably only a matter of time given the immense success of Jurassic World, but the Tracking Board reports that Mattel has teamed with Solipsist Film to put a Dino-Riders movie into development with Alissa Phillips and Stephen L’Heureux producing.

Like Transformers, Dino-Riders was an '80 animated series created primarily to market a line of Tyco (now owned by Mattel) toys. The story saw warring futuristic races the Valorians (goodies) and the Rulons (baddies) travel back to prehistoric times to use dinosaurs to continue the fight. Apparently "the angle would target the family demographic, with a strong action-adventure storyline."

The cartoon only ran for 14 episodes but it's gained something of a cult following over the years, and there's undoubtedly some serious coin to be wrung from the premise. What do you guys think about this? Would you be interested in a Dino-Riders movie or 5?
