I'm pretty sure we've seen the first one before, I think I even posted the low-res version a few months back.
And isn't the fifth one from one of the trailers?

Maybe it is silly, but part of what intrigued me about the original series, was the makeup/actors protraying apes. This was part of the charm for me. Call me old school.

this movie looks incredibly stupid. I predict that it will bomb worse than Green Lantern.

Yep these have all been on this site before...In fact I was the one who posted them and even then it managed to make it to the front page. Still...these are neato and I'm totally blown away by the VFX. I just hope they look as good in motion as they do in still form.

@runDTC it may seem dumb because you know nothing of the film history, but if you took time to watch it you would see its intelligence and amazing story. as for the new movie, we don't know how it will do. if its a cash in or a real great leg of the story. you can't dismiss one of the greatest film series of all time, because you think its silly. it's loved for a reason, and it was written by the greatest sci-fi writer ever, so....

@JackDexx, let's not forget that the "loved" history of this series is completely non-existent in these trailers. So, we can safely assume it's a cash-grab. All the POTA films are rooted in the same formula and at the core is talking monkeys in cloths. So, it gets kinda confusing when hardcore fans accept the new film with open arms even though the theme of the originals is gone. Even more hypocritical is criticism for Tim Burton film which is more of a Planet of the Apes movie than this shit. "This shit" is a bit harsh, but were only discussing a movie.

People saw a trailer that felt like Christopehr Nolan on Planet of the Apes, heard WETA and Andy Serkis, then formed a over-hyped view of what will most likely be a mediocre sci-fi film. The PlanetApes concept in general is tired and limited. Once the Apes are at odds with humans and the friendly apes are established, then what? What NEW thing happens to this property? It's like Jurrassic Park. What way can you tell this story with any sense of freshness? Making the apes more realistic and NOT talking and wearing cloths actually makes it LESS entertaining.

It's an off-season movie idea that probably didn't even start as a Planet of the Apes idea. It looks mildly entertaining for a little while, then once the monkeys are loose it's the same ol same ol. No sequel.

I have spoken. Ceaser has not.

@JackDexx: is this "great" film series better than:
Star Wars
Back to the Future
The Godfather
Die Hard
Toy Story
Lord of the Rings
Spider-Man
Nolan Batmans
Alien
Rocky
The Man With No Name trilogy
Terminator
The Matrix

@runDTC
when did i say it was the greatest movie ever? well it's better then the prequel star wars thats for damn sure. the original film is a great movie considered to be a classic because its good, not the best ever. one of the best of all time isn't THE best of all time. the best movie series of all time is back to the future, and shall always be. and it is most definitely better than rami's spiderman.

@NeoBaggins
ya thats what i'm afraid it is, but a small part of me really wants a GOOD POTA movie so i will still see it even though it won't turn out to be that. and the appeal isn't just monkeys in suit, unless you complete miss the shock and awe of the Rod Sterling ending. ya then i can see it being about funny monkey people, but even the thats over shadowed by the bat shit crazy scene when taylor talks to the apes.
