According to Deadline thespian Jackie Earle Haley has signed up for the Robocop remake. His character goes by the name of "Maddox" and he will have the vital role of supplying Robocop with military training.

Deadline adds that Jay Baruchel (She's Out Of My League) is circling one of the final roles.

RoboCop will be directed by Jose Padilha and star Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) in the lead role of Alex Murphy/Robocop. The film also stars: Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish. The remake will be in theaters August 9th, 201.

I don't understand the need for this character - Murphy is a trained policeman and then turns cyborg so is programmed to perform his precision shooting etc.
How does someone 'train' a robot?

'Final roles' - hopefully news of the bad guy soon..

ALOT OF GOOD ACTORS LINED UP YES..BUT WHAT WILL SELL ME IS THE LOOK OF ROBOCOP IN THIS FILM, YOU GET THAT WRONG AND ITS JUST GAME OVER.

Very good cast so far. Actualy raising my interest in this film up a few notches.

I'd love to see this guy play Captain Cold if he's ever in a Flash film.

Jackie Earl Haley is one of my favorite actors he has been good in every movie I have seen him in. I still don'tknw why they are making this movie but I'll still watch it.

he's in my top 10 favorite actors. he's a beast. someone mentioned him as Wolverine. he would have to bulk up a lot and he may be getting too old, but I could almost see it.

I mostly remember him as Rorsharch from Watchmen, and Guerrero from The Human Target (Another good, cancelled FOX show). This movie is looking better and better...
