As somebody who is doubtful of this remake being worth it at all, I like Ed 209 and Robo's gun. They are faithful enough designs, whilst still being fresh and contemporary. But Robo looks fvcking stupid.

what the hell is a Cylon from the '70s Battlestar Galactica doing here? Are they turning Robocop into a Cylon? That won't end well! I won't buy that for a dollar.

The ED-209 isn't bad- a reasonable facsimile.

@White Studios need to be more creative with properties like Robocop and Wolverine in terms of Rating.

Create 2 versions of Robocop. 1 is PG-13 and is shown during the day. The other is NC-17 and shown at night.

Same for Wolverine, Sin City 2, Punisher, Ghost Rider.

A studio needs to take the initiative and give it a try.

Another way to do it is shown PG13 in certain theaters and next door have the adult cut during the day.

In theater A Bane breaks Batman's back.
In theater B Bane rapes Batman and Batman returns to Gotham later and rapes Bane.

This remake is not necessary. This is going to be the the 'Total Recall' remake all over again which is 'Total Failure'.

@White
It's definitely the other way around. PG-13 films can get away with a lot more now than they could in the 80s and 90s. A LOT more.

Now, before the PG-13 rating, a lot of PG movies back in the day would have been a solid PG-13. But no, 80s and 90s PG-13 movies could get away with a lot less. Seriously, movies like "Taken, "Anchorman", and "Casino Royale" are a heck of a lot worse than "Jurassic Park" or "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

Frankly, I think it's naivete to think that an R rating is the only way to make a movie violent or dark. Honestly, the excessive language in "District 9" or "Phone Booth" is just plain distracting from otherwise great movies. That many f-words just spells lazy writing to me. I know people swear a lot in real life, but I just feel like in film it's a cheap trick to show intensity. Gore and brutal violence are the same way.

R does not mean good. The "Paranormal Activity" movies suck, especially in comparison to good horror movies like "Mama."

Yes, "RoboCop 3" was silly. But not because of the rating. It's story and themes just weren't enough to carry it as an intense movie.

Take two similar movies, both involving revenge: "The Punisher" and "The Count of Monte Cristo." The latter is miles and miles better. "Monte Cristo" not violent enough for you? How about "Taken?" Still miles better than the first choice. R does not equal good. Filmmakers should be more concerned with the quality of the movie than appeasing the simple-minded cravings for gore, swearing, and sex. That's how you end up with movies like "Alone in the Dark."

As concept art, this stuff looks pretty cool. Now, let's hope the script lives up to it.

There are no fewer than six writers listed for this on imdb. Not a kiss of death by any means, but sometimes means a meandering mess.

I hope not.

I'm also not familiar with the director's previous work.

I just remembered how traumatized I was as a kid when I saw Robocop. That scene is brutal. FATALITY.

To the first commentor who was worried this would turn out like Dredd; I wouldn't mind that. Dredd was actually really cool.
