Plenty of footage from the set of Robocop has found its way online, but most of it hard to decipher as sets are dimly lit, and obscured by faux torrential rain. What we have been able to view is a scene involving goons approaching and gunning down Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman). Now we have a new set video that provides us with a new angle, or is perhaps a completely different scene altogether.

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

RoboCop will be directed by Jose Padilha and star Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) in the lead role of Alex Murphy/Robocop. The film also stars: Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel and Abbie Cornish. The remake will be in theaters August 9th, 2013.

@Nubase. Exactly my thoughts. Elite Squad 2 might be most intense action film out there. People need to see that before they judge Robocop.

Nice to hear someone non brazilian here likes Elite squad and knows it's A GREAT movie! the violence scenes are sick! same or maybe more gore than Robocop old movie scenes! no need to talk about the plot of the movie...it's awesome too.
Watch elite squad 1 and 2 everyone...i have sure you would give a chance to José Padilha!
Judging by the movies that he made before robocop..he's a great director and he has a awesome view of to do a critic involving police and corruption

Elite Squad is madly overrated, but.. ok. Still think Robocop looks a lot like Black Kamen Rider...

@fettastic
But what you mean "screw" up de character?
Because how he look? far as we know..it could be ONE of the FOUR armors that Robocop will use. sooooo...and we even know if the suit will look like in the laked pics!
(judging by the offical photos i think it will be a metal aparence...not rubber)
No ones here knows shit about the character yet...or about the story line...we just have details...and that deyails could be just bullshits...let's remain our opnions when we get more details about the character or a trailer :)
Well...and if you even can not care about the qualities of the director...how could you at least give your opnion about the movie will be a bomb or a masterpiece?

Have a nice day :D

I'm be sad if his iconic look is not nailed by the final design , but I like the actors involved and its being filmed in my Home Town. But still worried it will turn out shit. The original is so epic! rc2/3 were HORRIBLE but the original was really well done. My buddies were watching them film the other night been kinda busy to go see it myself. But I've driven by the set ect.

This Reboot would look good if it was rebooting "The Wraith" which starred Charlie Sheen.

Yes, this is not Robocop. If it wasn't for the title.... we wouldn't even know what it was. Thats a sign that to much has changed.

Maybe if a new comic came out now, people would receive it better come its release. It wouldn't have to be an exact translation, like The Dark Knight film and Joker graphic novel aren't the same story.

The movie could be the origin story while the comic is an unrelated, ongoing saga post-cyberization.
