Unfortunately, some people were determined to spoil the true identity of Benedict Cumberbatch's 'John Harrison' before the release of Star Trek Into Darkness, robbing the big reveal in the movie of the impact it should have had. Yesterday, director J.J. Abrams (who is currently hard at work on Star Wars Episode VII pre-production) said that he actually regretted the decision in hindsight, but The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and Sherlock star who played the villain has now spoken out in his defence.
