Bleeding Cool broke news of a crossover event that will have you either excited or horrified. In May, publisher IDW is set to publish a Doctor Who/ Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover series. The Doctor, Amy and Rory, Captain Picard, Worf, Data, Geordie LaForge, Deanna Troy, Will Riker and all the rest are going to cross paths. The provided teaser featuring the Who Crew on the bridge of the Enterprise is a cover that will be used in the series.
Doctor Who has never had any such official crossover with any other show before, if you don't count
Dimensions in Time, a charity short that featured the BBC Soap
Eastenders (and you shouldn't count that at all, it's really bad).
Star Trek on the other hand, has had comic crossovers with the
X-Men and
Legion of Superheroes. This will be the first time the two behemoths of sci-fi have officially met.
Now there was the idea during the David Tennant specials of The Doctor winding up on a parody of a
Star Trek ship with a very similar crew, as revealed in Russell T. Davies
Writer's Tale book.
Who and Trek have both had nods to the other show throughout the years, but they are finally, officially meeting.
So, what do you think? Trekkies and Whovians unite? Can the two worlds co-exist? Sound off below!
