BOX OFFICE: ROGUE ONE Takes Aim At $350 Million Global Debut; Two New Clips Debut On JIMMY KIMMEL

According to Deadline, the latest box office tracking numbers have Rogue One: A Star Wars Story pegged at debuting with between $280 million - $350 million next week at the worldwide box office. There's obviously a lot of room between those two figures, so who knows where it will end up falling, but this is still a pretty good start for the first of what looks set to be a long list of Anthology movies.

Of course, these numbers pale in comparison to the $528 million scored by Star Wars: The Force Awakens when that debuted last year, but that's to be expected given the difference between the two.

We'll have to wait and see how that pans out, but the cast of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, and they brought two brand new clips with them. The first focuses on Jyn's escape from the Empire when she's rescued by the Rebellion, while the second takes us into the skies for a tense sequence as our heroes attempt to infiltrate what looks like one of the Empire's bases.

@JonTargaryen94 - Not getting to 1.4 billion with a 300 million opening. Age of Ultron barely got to 1.4 billion with a 400 million opening.

@MiopTop - but one is STAR WARS, the other is an Avengers sequel. Everyone comes out in droves for Star Wars compared to CBMs.

@MiopTop - You can't assume they will hold at the same rate. If it holds at the same rate that TFA did even with smaller amounts it could easily make around 1.4 billion. I think it's likely going to make around 1 though.
