FAN ART: "Unseen" Scenes From The Original STAR WARS Trilogy

Artist Robert Shane has come up with three very interesting "off-screen" scenarios from A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. They depict Boba Fett executing Owen and Beru, a Wampa VS Imperial troops, and Moff Jerjerrod coming to a shocking end.

"We all know that Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru were executed in Episode 4 (A New Hope) - and the grizzly revolution was pivotal in convincing Luke to begin his heroic journey. We didn't see actual the event - and we didn't need to (especially in a 'kids' movie) - but I thought it would be cool to imagine how it might have played out... especially if it had introduced us to Boba Fett's character!"

"There was a scene filmed for Empire Strikes Back that featured a Wampa that R2-D2 and C-3PO locked in a room at Echo Base being discovered by Snowtroopers... that scene wasn't completed because of the limitations of the animatics for the Wampa. So what I've done here is imagined how - if they'd been able to produce a better looking Wampa - they could have used it to (temporarily) terrorize the advancing Imperials!"

"There was a scene filmed, but not completed, for Return of the Jedi (apparently as a joke) - showing the Imperial Guard using their force pikes to execute Moff Jerjerrod for slacking with his job of building the second Death Star. I thought that scene, if it had been used, could have actually been important in demonstrating Darth Vader's wavering devotion to his Emperor. The way I imagine it - the Emperor orders his guards to execute the hapless Moff - but Vader actually protests - and tries to remind the Emperor that this was a loyal soldier who delivered a functional Death Star. I think this would be consistent with Vader's old appreciation, as Anakin, for his troops - and would start to sow the seeds for his eventual redemption at the end of the movie!"

I particularly like the idea behind the last one - I think that would have worked really well in the movie actually. You can see more of Shane's work at the link below.

"No disintegrations."
I don't see Boba Fett executing them in cold blood AS PRISONERS.

Not to rain on the sunshine of enthusiasm, but...

That Boba Fett scene just seems *wrong* on multiple levels.

The Moff Jerjerrod scene does not make sense, by my calculation. Luke and Vader are already there in the throne room when Palpatine clicks his communicator and says, "You may fire at will, Commander." (Vader refers to Jerjerrod as "Commander" in the film, not "Moff," so unless he was already killed, which granted is possible, he was still alive.) From that point on, the explosion of the Death Star itself would have been the cause of Jerjerrod's death.

Vader wouldn't have argued for Jerjerrod's life, especially when he killed off Imperial officers heedlessly in Empire Strikes Back.

Nice pics, but why Bobba Fett want to kill Owen and Beru? They were "farmers", not smugglers or killers...(??)

Very cool! That last proposed scenario would've been really interesting to see in ROTJ.

The Boba Fett scene makes perfect sense!

Vader hires him to find the droids, Boba follows the leads to the Lars' home. Boba Fett interrogates the couple, they don't talk, want to protect Luke. The bounty hunter disintegrates them. We see their still smoking bones in A New Hope.

Vader doesn't approve of this, after all he's met the Lars' people before. "No disintegrations this time"

I really like the idea that Boba killed Owen and Beru. Connects him even further into the Skywalker world. The other ones are pretty cool, too.

[frick]ing gold! That last one with the given description would've been a cool scene. It would've made the impact of Vader's redemption even stronger. One fanboy to another, keep these coming. They're wicked.

Very cool...but Bobba hadn't been hired by the Empire till Empire Strikes Back...

Also if Bobba had been on Tatooine in Star Wars Luke and Obi-Wan would have had a harder time getting away...

So I like the idea...but the first one would be better if it was the storm troopers being responsible for the executions...and maybe if Uncle Owns and Aunt Peru had been trying to escape out of the entrance to their home as that's where their bodies were lying when Luke found them...

All others are cool though ;)

I guess you guys forget that Boba Fett is a bounty hunter and will do whatever he is being paid to do?

@SuperSomething616: You forget that Bobba spent a lot of time on Tatooine and working for Jabba and, according to the Special Edition, he was on Tatooine at that time with Jabba. That's the only part that clashes, as I don't see him being on two jobs at the same time being that he comes off as a specialist.

@ChanceX74 - I didn't forget that mate...check my wording...I say he doesn't get hired by the empire till strikes back...

So basically we are in agreement...just got said it in different ways ;)

Not a fan of the idea of Fett taking out the Lars family. I like the presentation in spoof "TROOPS" better.
