RUMOR: [SPOILER] Will Reportedly Return In J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS EPISODE IX

With Star Wars Episode IX expected to begin production in the summer, the rumour mill has started churning again and it's now brought some very interesting details about the possibilities of a big return.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi featured a lot of big surprises but perhaps the best was the return of Yoda. Brought to life with a puppet identical to the one from The Empire Strikes Back, he was also voiced by returning actor Frank Oz and seeing him poke fun at Luke Skywalker was a lot of fun. However, a new report claims we haven't seen the last of the iconic Jedi Knight and that he'll return in Episode IX.

According to the New York Daily News' sources "familiar" with the upcoming threequel from director J. J. Abrams, "The success of the scenes featuring Yoda in The Last Jedi
were huge. Yoda will again appear as a ghost as he acknowledges Rey’s success and growth as a Jedi. The scenes are due to be put together later this year." Production is expected to start in July so official details will likely be revealed soon but the trailer and title are unlikely to be revealed until Star Wars Celebration 2019.

In the meantime, this is a really interesting rumour and one which makes a lot of sense. After all, recent comments from Mark Hamill have pointed to Luke Skywalker not coming back to the franchise after his demise in The Last Jedi so Rey will need guidance from somewhere! For now, it's obviously best to take this with a pinch of salt but be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news down below.

Mark talking about the 'Luke grieving Han's death' deleted scene.

He's right. As usual.

@Nebula - Except the whole purpose of Luke going in the Falcon was to mourn Han so the scene is redundant & pointless since the Falcon scene is better & moves the story forward

@Nebula - Nobody's right. Nobody's wrong. The hate and love cancel out one-another, Rian Johnson has brought balance to the force 😜

@SupermansTrunks - Except the force was already balanced...he [frick]ed up the balance in the force.

@LEVITIKUZ - The Luke returning to the Falcon scene is no match for the Finn, and Rose plot moving forward scenes.

@ForceOfLegend - Finn & Rose’s scenes are only like 15 minutes of a 2 and a half hour film.

Not defending them but looking only at Luke’s arc, it’s unneeded

It’s like the Jabba scene in ANH but Jabba is worse. We have Greedo tell Han about Jabba and then a scene of Jabba confronting Han. Jabba confronting Han does nothing to move the story forward not tells us anything we didn’t know that Greedo told us.

Now while Luke mourning Han is one shot & a overall nice scene, I prefer the Falcon mourn because well think about it. Luke is obviously mourning Han greatly. He didn’t even notice R2 was there. We have Luke looking around the Falcon, taking the funky dice, & sitting thinking how he failed his friend along with all the memories he had with Han. We are at one of Luke’s lowest points in the film

Then he meets R2. Old friend. He’s so joyous and happy. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t mourn Han, as he tells Leia he’s sorry, but it gives Luke happiness. Plus we have R2 tell Luke basically stop moaning and train Rey

Luke’s journey in this film began with seeing a hologram of Leia’s message & ends with Luke being a hologram confronting Leia & Kylo. It’s like poetry. It rhymes

I know I want off there a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I did question why we didn’t see Luke mourn Han at first but I realized the Falcon bit was the Han mourning scene. It’s a nice deleted scene but not a necessary one to the film

@LEVITIKUZ - I agree 100%. I kept seeing people complaining about Luke not mourning Han's death, but then when I finally watched the movie and saw that scene of him in the Falcon I was like, "What the hell? He's mourning right here."

I don't know what people wanted with this movie. I thought it was good. Middle of the better than all the prequels, not better than the OT or Episode 7 and Rogue One. But it was enjoyable for me and didn't piss me off at all.

I’ve only seen TLJ once and did not like it but I felt the Luke on the Falcon scene represented him reflecting on the larger OT adventures. Han too of course, but really the whole crew. It’s the vessel that took Luke from his Tatooine past, the tragedy of his uncle and aunt and the memory of Obi-Wan. I didn’t take it as an exclusive Han grieving scene but I dunno, maybe it was supposed to be. I thought the movie was all over the place so who knows.

Let's hope Obi-Wan and maybe even Anakin are along with him this time.

@SupermansTrunks - Well if showing off to Leia that he is a jedi, at a time when there are supposed to be NO Jedi is beautifully, then we shall have to agree to disagree.
