STAR WARS: Adam Driver Admits He's Still Haunted By Kylo Ren Killing Han Solo In THE FORCE AWAKENS

Adam Driver has reflected on the moment Kylo Ren kills Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, revealing that it still haunts him close to a decade after he shot it with the legendary Harrison Ford.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens may have taken a few too many cues from A New Hope, but it's fair to say no one expected Harrison Ford's Han Solo to meet his maker. And we definitely didn't anticipate it coming at the hands of the iconic character's son, Kylo Ren.

While Ford shared the screen with Carrie Fisher's Leia Organa, Han's death closed the door on the franchise's three leads (the other being Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, of course) ever standing side-by-side in the Millenium Falcon's cockpit again. Needless to say, it's still a perplexing creating decision on Lucasfilm's part.

Still, the moment itself was a powerful one and it's also a scene which continues to haunt actor Adam Driver.

Talking to CNN Entertainment (via SFFGazette.com), the Ferrari star said, "Somebody reminds me about that every day." Asked if he was serious, Driver added, "Not every day, but yeah. It used to be more but now it’s probably once a month someone will let me know that I killed Han Solo."

"I remember shooting that day, and it didn’t feel like that at all, obviously," he continued. "John Williams wasn’t playing in the background." The actor went on to say it didn't feel "tough" but was still "very emotional shooting it with Harrison."

"Harrison was so generous and contemplative, and to me that was a great moment on set, even though it was his death."

Kylo Ren reunited with his father in The Rise of Skywalker for a conversation which put the Supreme Leader of the First Order back on the right path. Ultimately, he sacrificed himself to save Rey, ending the Skywalker bloodline in the process. As of now, it's unclear whether Driver has any plans to reprise the role.

There is an upcoming movie set to put the spotlight on Daisy Ridley's Rey, though, so Ben Solo showing up as a Force Ghost isn't outside the realm of possibility.

In 2017, Driver also reflected on shooting one of the Star Wars franchise's most impactful moments.

"The people behind me, when the scroll started, were like ‘Oh my god. Oh my god. It’s happening.’ Immediately, I thought I was going to puke," he recalled. "I was holding my wife’s hand, and she’s like, ‘You’re really cold. Are you OK?’ Because I just knew what was coming - I kill Harrison - and I didn’t know how this audience of 2,000 people was going to respond to it, you know?"

I assume he must also be haunted by how sh!tty that whole last trilogy was & how terrible he was in it.

@DocSpock - I think he did a serviceable job considering the material, and the acting and dialogue in the OT and PT weren't very good either.

@TheVandalore - Agreed. Kylo had a lot of potential after VII.

I always thought he would be haunted by the chest scene in TLJ.

Nothing in the sequel trilogy made any sense

@LilJimmy - I'm right there with you. The trilogy that started in 1999 had its faults, but still had some redeemable qualities. Darth Maul fight, opening flying car-chase scene in episode 2 along with the Obie-Wan, Annikin, Yoda saber fights, and of course the Obie-Wan vs Annikin duel.

I'm still haunted by the mere existence of the sequel trilogy. An unholy thing that shouldn't have been born.

@TheLight - Yeah, yeah, and in how many years are people going to be praising this trilogy just like people now like the prequel trilogy better than before? People are going to enjoy them, and have been enjoying them, so better just get over yourself and let them enjoy it.

@MosquitoFarmer - I don't see that happening. Because the prequels movies were entirely original and unique. Each movie stands on its own.

While the sequel movies have major problems that won't hold up well in the future. The first movie is a retread of a new hope. A remix sort of. While done well (even the last jedi was done well), it is way too safe. The last jedi subverts expectations, which thanks to that movie is becoming synonymous with insulting fans. I do think the last movie will be looked upon more fondly in the future. While it throws everything at the wall, it is pure fan service all throughout.

Ultimately the sequel movies don't weave a coherent story together (unlike the prequel movies), and that's its biggest fault

@MosquitoFarmer - Hey nothing wrong with other people enjoying them. Just not me😂. And given what the sequel trilogy ripped off and slandered the reputation of the original characters, it won't age well.

I loved THE FORCE AWAKENS. Han’s death had me going “Wow, this sequel trilogy is going to be something.”

Eight years later I’m baffled as to how Disney bungled what came afterward.

I say this as someone who actually initially liked THE LAST JEDI, but came to like it less and less (and retroactively, TFA as well) when I realized most of the plotline for the sequels was being made up WITH NO SOLID PLAN WHATSOEVER.

So, all the “ingenious” setups in TFA were revealed to be mysteries without solutions, a trail of breadcrumbs leading nowhere in particular.

THE RISE OF SKYWALKER made me wish I could bleach my memories and scrub the entire sequel trilogy from my brain.

I'm ok with Ep7 except for this decision. It's ok to kill Han Solo, but it should have happened at the end of Ep8's second act, after Ep8 reunites all 3 OT heroes.

What a bad [frick]ing decision to kill him so early in the sequel trilogy.

I agree they could have killed him in episode 8 but at least have him reunite with the other two one last time before it happens ffs. They wrote these THREE movies as they were going along with no plan, just like how they're running Marvel now. Disney needs to quit movies and stick to cartoons please.
