Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He's Playing A Terminator In TERMINATOR 5

Recently we found out that Paramount now hold the rights to the Terminator franchise and a fifth installment is on the cards, but what role will Arnie be playing in the movie? Read on to find out from the man himself, who also confirms a January shoot date..

We knew Arnold Schwarzenegger would most likely be involved in another Terminator flick if it ever got off the ground, but most assumed he'd be playing a human character (perhaps the man who created the T-800) considering machines don't age and ...well, Arnie is pretty old now! But TheArnoldFans.com manged to nab a few quotes from Schwarzenegger regarding his upocoming movie slate, and he reckons he will indeed be "starring" as the Terminator once again:

"I'm very happy that the studios want me to be in 'Terminator 5' and to star as the Terminator. We start shooting in January and I'm also going to do 'King Conan'. To play that role and also to do another 'Twins' movie. I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I'm looking forward to doing those films."

There you go. We only found out a few days ago that this movie was even back on the radar, and now it's apparently shooting in January. Justin Lin was signed on to helm the previous incarnation at one point, but I'd assume Paramount are now pretty focused on finding a new director if they plan to get production off the ground so soon. Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) are currently working on a script. How do you guys feel about having Arnie back as a T-800?

T2 - "I'm a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton."

Living tissue ages.

'Nuff said.

Only thing we should see him do is take John Connor

They could make him look younger with make-up effects (which, in my opinion, would look better then doing it digitally).

Also, I hope he can do another "Predator" movie.

Never mind what I said about using make-up effects. I just take too damn long to type comments.

No matter how awesome it may look, if it's not R I won't waste my time with it (Unless people say it's amazing but I doubt it).

ABARy - Sadly that's the world we live in, studios want to get Kids in seats. Look at Total Recall, or the UK release of Die Hard 5. And you can bet your hat that the Robocop remake will be a PG13.

Also: Soo many big things shooting in early 2014...

Star Wars VII, Avengers 2, Pirates 5, Warcraft, (maybe) Avatars 2&3, and (supposedly, although I'll believe it when there's a press release) Ghostbusters 3.

I mean, holy shit, there won't be any actors left for anything else.

Well look at what they did with Jeff Bridges in Tron Legacy, I'm sure that's what they'll do for Arnold in T5.

Why's everybody so confused about his age?
They're surely going to it like in T4 by making him younger with CGI.

I really liked Terminator Salvation!
Hope Christian Bale will return aswell. He was great as John Connor.

And when Paramount is really going to make the Movie, we can probably look forward to a lot of Action! :)

Ok... Arnold was ENTERTAINING when he was younger, but was always and still is a TERRIBLE ACTOR! Him being in any more movies is a waste of time and money for everyone involved.

If they rope in Summer Glau and some Sarah Conner Chronicles links then this could be good. Certainly could be better than T3 or 'Salivation'. But no banal Bale.
