This being the week of Terminator I thought it fitting to post the latest and greatest marketing technique available to promote bad ass films such as Terminator Salvation. And yes the Terminator IS a holograph.

Tool is trash. NIN is excellent. I have front row NIN tix in 2 weeks. Tool is the most overrated band in history. HORRIBLE live. Sorry if you like them but they are garbage. I'm all set watching a band perform with their backs to the stage behind curtains. And yes, I have seen them as well as HUNDREDS of other bands so not only do I know what I'm talking about but I also have TONS of other bands' performances to compare them to. Ok, enough ranting. Yes, that does look cool.

MetalHead, Reznor needs to pack it up and retire. Maynard Keenan is a real song writer. Reznor cannot even keep a band together. Its all computerized anyway. NIN was never the same after Flood left the band. Hate to tell you, but TOOL is far more talented.

Calm down, you don't have to defend yourself from me. You can like whatever or hate whatever you want lol. although I do like NIN waaaay more then Tool, and I didn't like Tools newest album at all compared to there older stuff. Unlike NIN which has been bringing it non stop since they started.

DarkAvengers,
Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about. First off, TRENT IS THE BAND. He does the majority of the writing and playing on the albums. "The Fragile" is one of the very few albums by any band that I would consider start-to-finish flawless. And I'm not a NIN super-fan, either. Tool is garbage. The only thing they're talented at is boring me to the point where I don't know what to do with myself. To say that "TOOL is far more talented" just shows that you really don't know what you're talking about here since there is no debating that Trent has more musical talents than the majority of musicians out there. And again, that's not being a NIN super-fan, that's coming from someone who knows music and musicians.

Also what you forgot to say was that Trent IS GOD!! lol!

Also to stay on topic, yeah SirPrize is right I think its a lenticular printing. When I think of the word holographic I think of a 3D projection.

MetalHead - 5/18/2009, 3:21 PM
I won't go as far as to call him God, but I will say that I don't think it is possible for him to be better than he is, and I wouldn't just say that about anyone. But if you want to call him that I can definitely see why. (That wasn't meant to come off as argumentative.)

I don't think of him as god, just making a NIN super-fan comment lol. also what you were saying about Tool being boring, I often put a Tool album on when I go to sleep lol so I can see where your coming from.

Hope they make more poster like this for other movies.

Keven,
Believe it or not, when I first saw that trailer it made me have complete faith in this movie because when I heard that song ("The Day The World Went Away" from NIN's "The Fragile," for those who don't know) it said to me that the people who are making this are in touch with their audience and with the world today. And I say this because it's not like that particular song was a huge radio single, it was pretty much just an unknown track so to me it said that the people involved know NIN and therefore do have some taste. I imagined plenty of other songs they could have used, as well as just something instrumental, and that song really was a perfect choice and, to me, perfectly captured how the movie SHOULD feel.

PS - I WAS joking. I didn't even think I needed to clairify that one... I make 10 TIMES THAT A WEEK!!! (Ok, kidding again!)

metalhead to say tool is trash shows you know absolutely nothing about music.you can be biased and like nin more i dont care about that but to say a band is trash just shows your incompetency in the entire music genre.personally i think reznor is pretty good maynard pretty good.danny carey one of the most talented drummers ever if you wanna diss a band atleast make it an original diss like trent catches mansons knuckle children on his powdered cheeks or maynard so sick looking he could be the missing olsen kid.its not hard to be a dipshit try being original challenge yourself once in awhile

MetalHead
MetalHead - 5/18/2009, 9:00 PM
TalkingCorpse,
You don't know what you're talking about AT ALL. First off, I have a CD collection that rivals Best Buy's warehouses. I've been listening to metal (among other genres) since probably before you were born. The ONLY rock/metal bands who I haven't seen are Led Zeppelin (although I have seen Plant & Page), Nirvana and The Doors. (I'm sure I forgot one or two more but I have literally seen hundreds of bands.) So to try and tell me that I don't know anything about music is laughable since I've forgot more about music than you'll ever know. AND, (I won't even mention who, but) I have good friends in bands that IF you're a metal fan like you're apparently claiming to be then I'm sure you not only have heard but also most likely own their albums.

And a little news flash: Manson would be nothing and nowhere if not for Trent. Trent made him, brought him on tours, let him appear on his records, etc., when he was a nobody so to say that "Trent catches Manson's knuckle children..." shows 2 things: (1) you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to the subject, and (2) you apparently have zero intelligence (as shown through the "grammar" used in your post) since all you can think of to say involves homophobic comments.

That being said, that's enough music chat (from me, anyway) since this isn't a music site and that wasn't the point of this article and comments section.

I would have to go with a no since the endoskeleton has a shadow. I could be wrong, though.

I think Tool is GOOD; they aren't as good as NIN for sure.

I'm basing this off of only their music, however. I have never been to a NIN or Tool concert.
MetalHead
MetalHead - 5/18/2009, 9:51 PM
Well then, Macksimus, I'll say this: (DAMNIT! I said I was done!)

I obviously DID like Tool at one point if I went to see them. Having said that, their live "performance," if that is what that garbage was called, was absolutely horrible. It really made me hate them, and I can't emphasis enough how bad live they are. (I am not only basing their horrible live perfomance on just one concert.) Now I will say that their earlier albums are decent. Nothing amazing but they do have some cool songs. I got "Lateralus" the day it came out... and man, do I wish I could have that money and time back. AWFUL! Ever since then I can't even listen to them. And I'm not just exaggerating, either. It's just one of those things that I'll never be able to get over.

Now NIN live, on the other hand-- well that's a whole different story. Although I have to admit that I'm not as excited to see them as I was when they used to play tons of stuff from "Pretty Hate Machine" and "Broken," I'm interested to see how this tour is with all of the newer stuff. (I had tickets to this tour in November but I was puking my brains out all day and had to miss it the first time around. That was the SECOND TIME that I've had to pass up my NIN tix.)

Yohon,
Funny you mentioned that cause prior to posting this I had just watched it again and figured that was what happened. Lame.

NIN just has better songs. My favorite NIN tracks will always be "The Only Time," "The Hand That Feeds," "Hurt," "Head Like A Hole," "Everyday is Exactly the Same," "The Perfect Drug" and "Closer."

TOOL is an awesome group, but the only tracks of theirs that stand out to me are "Sober" and "Prison Sex."

NIN is by far the more "stand-out" of the two.

Anybody hear FLYLEAF's cover of "Something I Can Never Have?"

It's not half bad. :)

@ all

Why even debate if Tool is better then NIN and accept them both as two different art forms. Keep the peace. I enjoy both bands myself. Also take into consideration Tool in somewhat an underground band for a long time before gaining mainstream success where Nine Inch nails has been mainstream for much longer. Anywho,
