"V" Executive Producer Scott Rosenbaum Discusses Tonight's Season 2 Finale

Tonight's season two finale of "V" ends with some MAJOR cliffhangers sure to drive fans to distraction if ABC doesn't renew the show for a third season. While speaking to EW, executive producer Scott Rosenbaum details the reason for the cliffhanger that will include deaths and some majorly unresolved storylines.

“We had been given an initial episode order of 13, so I had planned a 22-episode season,” Rosenbaum tells EW, referring to the usual “back 9″ pickup that most shows receive if they’re delivering strong ratings. “When they reduced the order, I had to make a decision. I didn’t feel like it was possible to wrap the show in that amount of time, so I said, ‘You know, I’m going to hope there’s another season, because I’ve pushed the story too far [and] it won’t make sense [to conclude it this soon]. I don’t feel like the audience will feel like we’ve earned those moments.’ So I’m going to keep my fingers crossed and leave it organically where I think the show should end after 10 episodes. I went with hope, and tried to make it feel like a satisfying conclusion.”

Fans have been awaiting an all-out war between the Fifth Column and the Visitors. If there's a third season, Rosenbaum says, that's what they'll get. "What's so interesting," he notes, "is I feel like the best part of the show is ahead of itself."

I hope ABC doesn't pull a [female dog]assness move like FOX and cancel the show. I'll pull a Terminator on their head offices if so.

Seems like everytime I get invested in a show something happens to it.

Life on Mars (US)- Lame ending
Ashes to Ashes (UK)- THEY WON'T PLAY THE LAST FREAKING SEASON!
Firefly- Discovered it too late and it had a short but brilliant run
Oddities- Cancelled too soon, must have been too creepy for the general population

I could go on but I'm making myself mad and most likely boring others. But seriously, does this feel like it happens to anyone else?

No one is watching, because they are just downloading it, people work during these hours, same with Fringe. With this economy it's easier to just use netflix or bittorrent.

damn, I didn't realize this but some of you are right. The ratings suck balls, shit I thought they were decent at least. 1.9 I'm afraid isn't going to cut it, it's a shame cause the show is decent. It just seems anything relating to Sci-Fi doesn't last long. And I predict the same for WW and Hulk. They'll only last 2 seasons. Our shows are only meant for cable tv.

Yea same here, I thought it was good. It's too bad it might be the last. Shit they should at least do another 10 epi's. They don't have anything to replace it with anyway but like I said scifi is not meant for major networks.

If you have seen the old series when this came out on tv (I loved the old series)and can comepare it this the new version is amazing.
And I love that they bring back some of the old cast. I dont like it if they pul the pin with out rounding up the storyline like Terminator just to name one
