PACIFIC RIM SYNOPSIS - When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim was directed by Guillermo del Toro, from a script written by Travis Beacham. The cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Diego Klattenhoff, and Brad William Henke. In theaters July 12, 2013!

Striker Eureka and Crimson Typhoon are badasses. :)

Gipsy Danger is gonna be awesome too. Heard he has special weapon hidden in his armor. Ready to slice and dice few monsters.

You know what this means? Striker Eureka gets destroyed first. That would make the other pilots crap their Jaeger underoos.

Damn, Del Toro really likes the Aussies. Striker Eureka is badass, but my favorite is still the American Gypsy Danger. Kind of bullshit that Gypsy Danger is less powerful than the Chinese and Russian ones though. C'mon man, you think we'd let that stand!

Genaro - 3/30/2013, 3:16 PM
I heard there are 9 jaegers and 12 kaijus.

I'm pretty sure that Gypsy Danger is the outdated model since its the Jaeger that got the most commercial time.

The Gypsy Danger is a Mark-3 so the US has or had two other Jaegers. Don't know if they were destroyed.

Kit Harrington as Rick Hunter? Tobey Mcguire producing an Alex Garland script? Gold anyone? I just bullsh!tted the bit about Garland, but still.., who's with me? Cruise-style circa '96.., "..who's comin' with me?"

P.S. I hope I just sent numerous brows in multiple varying trajectories.

@batesmotel

Cuthulu-like tentacles must come from underneath your soul-patch.., like now and stuff-wiches. Talking like a jewish rich trustfunder's son from NY just makes me feel like I think I'm Pauley Shore back when he meant something for one year.., was that like '90-'91? You can have my last bagel there, in closet skatepark hanger-outer: "down the 'chouse some serious grindage.., dude!"

funny how Japan's and America's seem to be the weakest of the bunch..

yeah...I'd bet good money that China's kill count is only 2 kaijus and they lied and said it was more and got all huffy when anyone called them liars.

It is China after all.
