A cry for Cletus Kasady

I want to see Cletus Kasady in the new Spider-Man reboot.... What do you think?

A cry for Cletus Kasady….

I want to see Cletus Kasady in the Spider-Man reboot.  Eventually, I want to see Carnage too but I want Cletus Kasady to be an established character.

I think it would be awesome if Kasady had a cameo in the movie.  For example, Parker saw him getting on a bus or something while he was walking to school and someone said to Parker “That’s Cletus Kasady, he’s insane, he killed his grandmother and his mothers dog”.  Obviously, they could word that differently….

In other words, I want to see some crazy shit.

I want to see Casady and Brock locked up in a prison cell on Ryker’s Island together and watch as Casady binds with Carnage.

I want to hear “Free Bird” playing while Kasady/Carnage goes on rampage.

I want to see Spider-Man and Venom team up to fight Carnage.

I want to see a prison designed specifically to hold Carnage.

I want to see Cletus Casady and Carnage in the Spider-Man universe.

Thanks for reading, I know, it's a short article....  Sound off in the comments

I love Carnage but hate Venom.

Venom is such a terrible character. Eddie Brock isn't interesting at all, the alien goop is.

Carnage is much more interesting. A serial killer mixed with a deadly alien symbiote.

He's like Zsasz in Clayface's body. I think that is a good comparison.

Carnage is no doubt Spidey's most dangerous foe.

Yes, yes, YES!!! A million times YES!

Carnage is one of my all-time favourite villains. He's bat-shit crazy, and so much fun to read. Would be epic to see on screen.

I'm sad though that I'll never see my choice for Kasady on the big screen. Jim Carrey has always been my #1 choice, he would've been so perfect.

Thumbed @DrKinsolving

Nice work buddy.

@DrKinsolving Nope, I mean he looks familiar, so I probably am familiar with some of his work, but not enough to know him by name.

@PAF If I didn't know who Carnage is, I deserve to be booted from this site.

Funny, I would've said Sony was Spidey's most dangerous foe.

And I actually never would've guessed that that gif was from Pineapple Express. I've only seen about 9 minutes of that movie. Rented it once years ago, but it happened to be the weekend my son's mother and I hooked up...We smoked a big fat joint at the beginning of the movie...and tried repeatedly to watch it for 3 days. We always found something better to do. I hate Seth Rogen.

@MercwithMouth I meant this gif, not the Johnny Depp one:

Now that I look at it though, I believe that's James Franco(correct me if I'm wrong), I just don't know what film this is, and I don't recognize him with long dirty blond hair.

True, I'm way more of a Carnage fan then a Venom fan, their both cool but I'd take Carnage any day

@Doopie

Yeah, they would probably have to introduce Venom and Brock first, but I think it would be cool to introduce Kasady in the movie, as a human, just to show that he exists.... and there is definitely enough depth if you start out with his origin, Carange is awesome in the comics
LEVITIKUZ

@DrKinsolving

Here is my problem with Venom. Look at Venom.

When I see that, I think of this:

The last thing I want to see is someone who looks like that and I see like that helping people like so:

I mean you got one of the scariest looking villains. I mean Venom really looks like the comic book equivalent to a Xenomorph but the problem is you give him this genetic as backstory of wanting revenge. You can only do that in so many stories.

Venom is really the equivalent to Hush from Batman. Hush is motivated by revenge like Venom. The difference with Hush and Venom is Hush is a mastermind. He has the intelligence and money to hire villains to work for him.

he won't attack Aunt May and Mary Jane. That's the problem and why Hush went from being Venom like to better.

In Heart of Hush, he decided not to attack Bruce physically. He attack the one woman he loves and literally steals her heart. Selina.

He does this because he wants to her Bruce in the worst way possible.

And if that wasn't enough in the story; we learn that Hush, who was a brilliant surgeon, performed plastic surgery on his own face to look just like Bruce Wayne.

In Batman Eternal, Hush went to Wayne Manor and attacked Alfred by injecting some of Scarecrow's fear gas straight into Alfred's brain which made Batman decide to put him in a coma.

I mean again, Venom is something out of a horror film and they never kept going with the horror film direction for Venom as a character. It's like they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.

It's also why Carnage is better. He is everything Venom should be. He is the stuff of nightmares. He's a serial killed mixed with alien goop and looks like something out of a sci-fi horror. That's scary.

He also doesn't want revenge or have a vendetta against Parker which makes him even greater and more dangerous because he isn't just striking Peter's family but anyone who he finds.

Venom is nothing more then a genetic villain who's design comes from the master of style over substance himself Todd McFarlane.

@Doopie

True, Exactly, I think it could fit in really well. In the comics the Sliver Surfer actually has to make a custom prison for him, so if it was connected to the MCU cosmic, maybe Warlock or the GOTG could help make the prison....

But, Carnage's origin story is awesome, imo, he's definitely one of my favorite villains, he's nuts.

By the by, I saw this comic on my phone the other day and thought of you....

Have you ever heard of Doop!? Haha, I haven't read it yet

Totally, I totally agree, Venom being a good guy is wrong, there's drool dripping on the kid he's saving in that panel, haha, it looks like he's ready to eat him....

And, I agree with the Hush comparison, that story was told so much better and Hush as a character is so much better.... I'm not really much of a fan of Agent Venom either....

But, Carnage is awesome.

This is Carnage being a good guy

Definitely..They need to do carnage. I think seeing the original venom and eventually agent venom ( maybe send him off with the guardians for the their 3rd movie)

They need to do carnage, an actual deformed green goblin not like the last one, a rhino like his classic suit and mysterio. also daredevil/luke cage cameo..and a real costume wearing black cat. And please make it peter parker

I think the symbiotes would be great for a loose Spider-Man trilogy within another Spider-Man series, and establishing Kletus prior to Carnage could factor into that pretty well. Hell, it'd work as a trilogy following up from the events of TASM and TASM 2:

1) TASM - Peter and Gwen get together
2) TASM 2 - Gwen is murdered
3) MCU Spider-Man movie - Peter gets the symbiote suit, which amplifies his anger and grief following Gwen's death. Kletus could be introduced here as a side-villain, while The Green Goblin would be the main villain following on from Gwen's death
4) MCU Spider-Man 2 - Having gotten rid of the symbiote suit, Spider-Man faces Venom after it bonds with Eddie Brock. Kletus could also be a side-villain here, or at least cameo.
5) MCU Spider-Man 3 - The Venom suit reproduces, and the second symbiote bonds with Kletus, finally forming Carnage. Then, Carnage could team up with Venom, or he could be a solo villain, or the film could be a three-way battle with Spider-Man vs Venom vs Carnage. Also, depending on how the previous movie ends, it could either be Eddie Brock as Venom again, or it could be Flash Thompson's Agent Venom, if Venom is in the movie.

@AC1

I see what your saying, but I think Carnage is enough for Spider-Man, Spidey actually had to team up with Venom in the comics because Carnage was too powerful for Spidey to take on alone....

But, I also want the new Spider-Man reboot to distance itself from TASM franchise.... I do want Marvel to focus on establishing the universe, so I definitely want to see Osborn, Gwen, MJ, Brock, Flash, The Daily Bugle. etc, etc, all of the major components/characters of the Spidey universe need to show up.

I think if the have Kasady as a character in the first movie, even for a cameo will set up Carnage well. Brock could get the symbiote first, get locked up, and while he's in jail, the symbiote comes back and bonds with Cassady and all hell breaks loose....

In other words, I'm not sure how they would do it, but I really want to see Cassidy and Carnage on screen

I disagree about Eddie Brock being uninteresting. I actually think he's one of the more sympathetic villains Spider-Man has. Think about everything the guy has been through -- he had a shit childhood, but managed to get through it without it turning him into a "bad guy." Then finally after years of feeling inadequate, he married a woman who he was madly in love with and actually became a star reporter. He was on top of the world for a while.

Then along comes Spider-Man to reveal that Eddie made a big mistake with the whole Sin Eater thing -- and despite it NOT being Eddie's fault, he gets absolutely disgraced. He gets fired, can't find a job that's worth shit anymore, becomes seriously depressed, and his wife leaves him.

And on top of that he gets slapped with a CANCER DIAGNOSIS. It's like the world just decides to take a massive dump on this guy, until all he's left with is suicidal depression and a lot of anger he doesn't know where to direct.

So he lashes out at Spider-Man, someone completely undeserving. You could say that the symbiote makes his hatred even worse -- the symbiote hates Spidey even more than Brock does, so it's like the devil whispering in his ear.

You're right @Levitikuz, the symbiote is the real villain -- but Eddie Brock is not a bad character by any measure. He's just another one of the symbiote's victims.
