AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Issue 006

After swapping his mind into Peter's body, one of Spider-Man's greatest enemies, Doctor Octopus, set out to prove himself the Superior Spider-Man. He also completed Peter's PhD, fell in love with a woman named Anna Maria Marconi, and started his own company, "Parker Industries." But in the end Doc Ock realized that in order to be a true hero, he had to sacrifice himself and give control of Peter's body back to Peter.
Peter recently found out that someone else, Cindy Moon A.K.A. Silk, was bitten by his radioactive Spider giving her similar powers to Peter. And that's not the only thing they have in common.

THE AMAZING

SPIDER-MAN

ISSUE 006

This issue was the end of The Amazing Spider-Man relaunch's first story arc..and it was fantastic. But I'll get to that later. The issue has an explosive start with Spider-Man being unmasked by J. Jonah Jameson on live television...but he is blocking the view. Now that is FANTASTIC news for Spidey, but not for JJ, he just can't seem to catch a break. So the Parker luck is holding out, it got Peter into this situation where he was almost exposed, but it has also saved him so all in all it's not too bad. Just in the nick of time Silk covers Peter's face with her own webbing and completely ruins JJ's and Black Cats day. I really am liking Silk, she is incredibly witty and almost as much of a laugh as Peter.
First Page, Second Page & Third Page

Silk then picks up Spider-Man and escapes out of a window...and she really does show off her wit and also just how much faster than Electro she is. I really don't know how I feel about her being so much more powerful than Peter...it kinda makes him seem a tiny bit less awesome. Now maybe this might have been because the only other Spider-Woman in the Marvel 616 comicbook Universe doesn't have similar powers to Peter, so that might be a reason why. Silk may even become a better Spider-man than Peter, but it makes me wonder what is going to happen to both of them when Morlun comes. Now hopefully Cindy will sacrifice herself for Peter or something along those lines...if not does that mean that Peter may die again? Anyway, as Silk swings off through New York holding Spidey Electro and Black Cat go off to find some more muscle to help combat Silk - leaving JJ to sulk alone with his thoughts.
Fourth Page & Fifth Page

The "Extra Muscle" Black Cat was referring too is what seem to be a Super-Villain secret bar that was run by Max's Girlfriend...who as you all should remember he fried by accident. But none of the Villains in the Bar want anything to do with Black cat, and especially nothing to do with Electro. To go deeper into this. It seems that now in the comicbooks the villains, even the small time ones, have a lot of depth and heart to them. Not just faceless evil beings...hence why I feel Morlun is making a triumphant return.
Sixth Page

Anna Maria and Cindy are helping Peter recover after his run in with Electro, But it seems that Silks webbing is just as strong as Octavius' new web fluid and needs a special solution to dissolve it. But Anna Maria is happy to be making jokes about Peter and Cindy having some sort of weird Spider mating ritual. Which in all honesty just creeps me out thinking about it ever since that issue where Peter turned into a giant Spider and gave birth to himself. Anyway, Anna tells Peter that he has to give a demonstration of his Electro-Trap to the Chief of Police, he reluctantly agrees. I am amazed at how Anna Maria puts up with Cindy...if I was her I'd be plotting to get rid of her regardless of if my boyfriend wasn't who I thought he was. Please note that Anna and Peter haven't really broken up officially. Meanwhile Electro is busy interrogating Sajini about the machine that Peter is building to try and cure him and Black Cat is interrogating her about absolutely everything that she knows about Parker Industries plans.
Seventh Page & Eighth Page

At the demonstration things are not going so smoothly. Peter has not yet arrived and the Chief of Police is asking his workers questions about the Electro-Trap that they do not know the answers too, meanwhile Black Cat and Electro are suiting up to ruin the demonstration. I don't really know what Black Cats main goal really is here, of course she is trying to mess with Spider-Man, but why hinder Electro's treatment. On the way too the demonstration Cindy and Peter can't keep there hands off of each other. But luckily just before the issue get's raunchy Cindy senses that Electro and Black Cat are nearby, so whilst Peter and Cindy go off and and do Superhero stuff Peter promotes Anna Maria to Vice President of Parker Industries.
Ninth Page & Tenth Page

Anna Maria tries to call of the demonstration and evacuate the area, and a News helicopter comes out of nowhere due to an anonymous tip, obviously Black Cat is the anonymous tipper because she is trying to make a name for herself again since Octavius ruined her. But I have already spoken about that about four times in previous reviews. Anyway now it is clear that Black Cat was not trying to cure Electro, but make him even stronger, which to be honest I don't think would be a good idea...we've all seen the Amazing Spider-Man 2 so we know what happens if you supercharge Electro.
Eleventh Page & Twelfth Page

Spider-Man and Silk make a fun little entrance, but whilst Spidey goes off to fight Black Cat, Silk is stuck fighting Electro, and in he process Electro brings down the News Helicopter, but thanks to Silk's almost infinite varieties of webbing she is able to cushion the wreckages fall. I am fairly confused as to how she can change the consistency of her webbing, I mean Peter's has always been either an adjustable nozzle to the shooters or a new batch of web-fluid, but does she have muscle control or something which allows her to do it? as I said Electro is being killed because it seems he is being overcharged. I can't help but feel bad for Electro, all he wants is to be cured, he just seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. A completely unrelated thought, it kind of feels like JJ might become a villain at some point...
Thirteenth Page & Fourteenth Page

Whilst Silk is off saving people from Electro, Black Cat makes Spidey prove to her that he is no longer Otto Octavius by saving Electro's life. Right here is the perfect example of why Peter Parker will always be my favourite comicbook character and role model in life. Electro is his nemesis, yet he still risks his own life to save his. Not only does he risk his own life, but when the odds are really not in his or Electro's favour he lies to Electro just so that Electro will feel more secure. This truly is why I love Spider-Man. Just before both Spidey and Electro are fried Silk saves both of them with two web lines. Silk also notices that all of these years it has just been pure luck Peter has not been killed yet. Because sensuously, apart from when he created the way of the Spider, when has he fully known what he's doing and had to work at being Spider-Man. Silk creates a web-pod and then saves all three of their lives as the Electro-Trap explodes.
Fifteenth Page & Sixteenth Page

Back at the Fact Channel the reporters are doing a full coverage story of the explosion, and we are shown that Electro, or should I say Max Dillon is now cured and is a normal human being. This is incredible news! Slott really is reshaping the Spider-Man Universe which is fantastic. This might mean that we will get those new villains that I was talking about in my last review. At the Fact Channel JJ is more than happy to pin the whole explosion on Spider-Man and that there was absolutely no fault on Peter Parker's behalf, which I think is fantastic because the Parker luck is pulling through for Peter once more. To make his life even easier Cindy has just gotten herself a job at The Fact Channel as an intern, so she is now Peters eyes and ears in the news world.
Seventeenth Page

Black Cat, having escaped the explosion thanks to her bad luck powers, has called all of the villains from the start of the issue who didn't think she had any credibility to a meeting. At this meeting she re-establishes herself in the villain community and in her own thought bubbles she reveals that she wants to become the Queen of villains...so pretty much a much better looking version of the Goblin King...oh wait that reminds me, dos this mean that Urich will team up with Black Cat at some point seeing as he has appointed himself as the new Goblin king..so a King and  Queen? I think something is going to happen here.
Eighteenth Page

Back at Parker Industries Anna Maria is tending to Peter's wounds from the Electro fight and is talking about how Peter truly is a very different man than Otto Octavius...and also says something quite cringey about Otto being more slick and sexy. Which to be honest I couldn't see at all, and I think she just friend-zoned him...ouch those feelings. Shortly after Sajini arrives after being held captive by Black Cat and Electro, and she also reveals to Anna Maria that she thinks that Peter's  Super-Villain project will be problematic, obviously meaning that she showed Black Cat the schematics so she will be able to break out any Villain she likes and assemble an Army...so Sajini basically tells Anna Maria to start up the old Nano-bot project again. Meanwhile Peter is happy thinking that everything is Awesome and that tall will be okay in the long run. God Damn that Parker Luck.

Overall View

I absolutely loved this issue! From start to finish it kept me interested. It was a wonderful end to thus story arc and has left me with many questions and ha also provided me with many answers. For instance, What will happen to Max now? Will Black Cat succeed? What happens if Black Cat does form an alliance with the New Goblin King? Will Morlun make an appearance soon? and finally, Will Anna Maria tell Peter about what Sajini has asked her to do? Seeing as they are now both good friends. But overall I think we should just let Peter have fun for now and be care free, after the past few months he's had he deserves a little break before all hell breaks loose in Spider-verse. Finally, what are the chances that in one of these issues Peter invents sometime that will prevent himself and Cindy from wanting to rip each others clothes of and "Do the do". I like my comicbooks rated "T" for Teen hahaha, the only time I'd want it rated for adult would be for gore or for once showing swear words. Spider-Man is now definitely not too busy to be taking part in Spider-Verse, speaking of which I shall be reviewing the first issue of Edge Of Spider-verse very very soon.
