THE AMAZING
SPIDER-MAN
ISSUE 011
In a direct continuation of issue Ten, issue eleven picks up with the building conflict between Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Otto Octavius/Spider-Man reaching breaking point. As I may have already stated, Otto is still of the mindset that he could not possibly fail, hence he is under the belief that the Peter Parker in front of him is from before the whole mind swap confusion. So naturally he goads our Peter into hitting him. But thankfully our Peter uses his cunning mind to diffuse the situation in a rather comical way. These first four pages were beautifully executed. As a reader I felt very satisfied to finally see Peter get some revenge on Otto Octavius, heck maybe even pre-venge.

Meanwhile Karn, Morlun's younger brother has just killed a Spider-Totem known as Spider-Wolf. I won't lie, this Spider-Totem looked like a bad ass, Karn really is a force to be reckoned with. Yet he is still just trying to make his father proud of him, and can you blame him? His father had his face sealed into a helmet because he was shamed of his face, then to make it worse he was forced to travel the multi-verse killing Spider-Totems. But his father who is always watching 'the great web' is heartless and just sends him off to another world. Then there is mention of a "Prophecy", now I really can not wait to see how this plays out, old man Spider-Man knew what it was but was killed, so we may not found out for another three or four issues. All we do know is that Silk is the Bride, and that there is a Scion, and a unidentified third "Key member" to the Morlun family's destruction. I can assume that our Peter is the unidentified player, Silk is the Bride...but who is the scion?

Back in the Safe-Zone SpOck has come to his senses and both himself and Peter do a role call on the current Spider-Men they have out in the other Universes. Miguel is back in his own era so he goes rogue, but you can follow his antics in the Spider-Man 2099 series which I would say is well worth a read. SpOck and Peter then start to formulate a plan to take the fight to the Inheritors dimension, they decide to send Anya and Spider-Gwen in as spies. We then have a nice special moment between Gwen and Peter as they explain how they each for responsible for their own respective deaths. It really is quiet sweet. Peter then talks to Miles Morales and the Disney TV series Ultimate Spider-Man and tells them to go and recruit Spider-Men. I wonder why Peter refers to that Ultimate Spider-Man as younger him...if they existed in the same 616 sure, but they don't...maybe he just means younger Peter. But before Peter leaves he puts my favourite Spider-Man in charge, Spidey-Brit.
Eighth Page, Ninth Page, Tenth Page & Eleventh Page
Miles and Ultimate Peter find themselves in the 1960's, obviously where they will bump into the 60's cartoon version of Spider-Man. The cartoon that started it all for most Spider-Man readers, as well as the show that had the iconic Spider-Man theme. In Color. Also Ultimate Peter shows off his rather juvenile annoying anime-esque Spider-Plushy, which I assume kids find amusing. I love how both Miles and Ultimate Peter take the mick out of the layout of Manhattan and the Daily Bugle, it just makes so little sense looking back on that show. I do love how good old Flat Top is portrayed on this issue as well.
Twelfth Page & Thirteenth Page
Back in the Safe-Zone, Earth-13 the Inheritors Father "Solus" has come to face off with Cosmic Spidey. I really did NOT see this coming. Sure it would not be a good story if the Safe-Zone were actually safe, but I thought that maybe they would have been allowed a silver lining. Anyway Cosmic Spidey takes charge and starts a fight with Solus, meanwhile Spider-Monkey and Captain Spider are murdered by Morlun. I really do hope Cosmic-Spidey doesn't die, I kinda liked him.
Fourteenth Page & Fifteenth Page
On Earth-802 we catch up with all of the clones and what it is they have discovered. Which seems to be that the Morlun family has a Inheritor cloning factory...this is really strange. I'd have thought that there was a way to automatically kill clones...or am I getting confused with the 1994-1999 series...WHICH HAS YET TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE!
Sixteenth Page
Solus and Cosmic Spidey start to hash it out whilst Spider-UK informs Peter of the sudden disaster. It seems that Solus is a God...and that his power goes throughout the multi-verse...meaning that he can match and overpower the Enigma Force. This is truly worrying to me...how the hell are the Spiders supposed to defeat something greater than the enigma force?! As I feared Cosmic Spidey is dead...and Morlun has taken May's little brother Benjy...the baby is the Scion! I really did not see that coming..Sop Peter is a key member, so is Silk, and now his child from another Universe? This is getting REALLY interesting.

My Overall View
I really do not know how Slott has managed to do this. I have to say that because of his ideas with Spider-Verse, Spider-Mn 2099, and The Superior Spider-Man I now have to pre-order my comicbooks if I want to get them on time. He has managed to create a very intriguing story arc in the form of Spider-Verse where each individual issue leaves you wanting more. All I can say is the Coipel and Ponsor are doing fantastic jobs on the artwork and that the story is just mind blowing. Spider-Verse has gotten me really excited and I can not wait to read the next however many issues. I have also had to collect each of the individual ones just so I can know as much as possible about this series. As usual for Spider-Verse I give this 10/10.
