The following is my own transcript for the audio interview (which cannot be embedded) and is as accurate as possible. You can hear what the actor had to say for yourself by following the link to The Guardian's website at the bottom of this page.

On Shooting The Movie:

"We started shooting two weeks ago, we have Christmas off and are then back into it for a fair bit of time. I'm going to have to hibernate into this character for at least four or five months."

On Whether He's Tried On The Suit And What It's Been Like:

"I have! I feel like a kid in my pyjamas. I can only say how it feels and it I feels pretty special. It feels like a dream relaised and a fantasy realised and I dont take it lightly and feel very, very lucky that I get to wear spandex for the next few months!"

On Training For The Role:

"Strength! I think Spider-Man needs strength but Peter Parker is still just a teenager. That's a very tender balance to figure oout. It's very specific of what we're trying to achieve in terms of body type. Rest assured there are a lot of people who are helping me with it in that respect!"

The untitled Spider-Man reboot is set to be released on July 3, 2012 in 3D and also stars Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard. The movie will be directed by Marc Webb.

You should check out the audio interview...he comes across as a really humble, nice guy and I have no doubts that he'll be the best possible Peter Parker we could hope for even if the rest of the movie ends up being crap! (which at this point I really dont think it will) I can't wait for the first shot of the costume. Hopefully it's not just a recycled version of the last one!

But Marvel needs the rights back!!!

The first two Sam Raimi movies were great, but it's VERY easy to look back at them now and find a hell of a lot of faults! Most of those were with the third one, but my main problem remains with casting...Willem Dafoe, James Franco and Alfred Molina were all perfect. The rest (Tobey and Kirsten included) were not. Add in stuff like the organic web shooters, drab costume, and awful Green Goblin outfit and I truly hope that this reboot looks a little more closely at the comic books! :)

"Peter Parker is still just a teenager".

A 29 year old teenager by the time the film is released.

I have to agree with @Intruder and @CaptainQuirk. This reboot sounds fantastic! Honestly I promise you fans I've seen Garfield in multiple films and he is an excellent actor. I think both Toby Maguire and Kristen Dunst are pretty terrible personally. God the faces Toby makes when crying or straining himself to stop a train were laughable and annoying. I'm pretty excited for this re-boot, while Spider-Man 1&2 had their down sides I still felt they were decent. How anyone can like Spider-Man 3 though blows my mind honest to God I will never understand that.

Intruder@ I get that, though I personally don't think he looks high school anymore. Makeup will take care of that. The challenge is when you get into continuity. We will end up seeing another reboot in 6 years because you can age pretty quickly once you hit the 30's in Hollywood.

I just am not into seeing another origin/teenie Spiderman. We will never end up seeing the villains and complete universe associated with Spiderman if they keep doing this.

Frogman
Frogman - 12/23/2010, 1:32 PM
talking of sequels I still want an opening sequence where we see Spidey take down Rhino or Shocker or another villain that couldn't carry a whole film so we get to see them represented on the big screen.
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 12/23/2010, 1:39 PM
Intruder@ Well, if they can realistically pull off the continuity, then all the power to them, but I am not putting a lot of trust in that being it isn't in Marvel's hands. I still am not interested in this one as I have had enough of Spidey origin stories between the animated series and the live action films. Get on with it already!

I didn't mind the organic web shooters, i thought that was better than the made web shooters. Im disappointed that Marvel isn't really over this movie, but ima still check it ou......AND IM SO SICK OF THIS CAPRICA AD!!ON THE MAIN PAGE!!!!!

superkal @ Only A$$ here is you lol! ; P

Raimi is brilliant, so what if SPIDEY 3 sucked, the other two are two of the best cbm's ever made!

Plus you love Smallville! ; D

Joking a side, hope this movie has the magic SPIDEY 1&2 had!
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 12/23/2010, 2:30 PM
Suspense@ It really irks me when people refer to someone not being interested in a movie as being "hate". I don't need to see the movie to know I won't like it because I am simply not interested in seeing another origin movie. It's simple as that. I will rent it and watch it most likely, but I am not excited about seeing the actual film in the theaters.

In Hollywood, most actors start aging quickly at 30 because the lifestyle catches up with them. DiCaprio is definitely looking 36 if not older now and I never thought he would get out of the youngster look. Garfield's more recent photos just don't look teenie to me, but to each their own. I don't think they should have casted a young actor like Harry Potter. Early to mid/20's would have been perfect. I am not sold on Garfield yet, but time will tell. I will catch up with the rental and see what the sequel will look like. If they jump ahead a number of years and throw in some good villains as Intruder suggested I may open up to it more.

How many people think that this movie will suck? First Class will also suck just to point out but at least that movie will have cool flashbacks of Xavier and Magneto by really good actors.
