Chris Cooper Talks Briefly About His Role As 'Norman Osborn' In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 & 3

In his first interview about his role as 'Norman Osborn' in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Chris Cooper has confirmed earlier reports that the sequel will serve as a way of introducing the character before he takes on a much larger role in the third instalment which is pencilled in for 2016. "Well, this is an introduction to Norman Osborn and apparently this leads to better things in Spider-Man 3. I think it's fair to say he's on his last legs...I don't know if I can say anything more!" So, it definitely sounds as if we'll see Cooper suiting up in the third movie rather than this one. However, with rumours that it will be Harry who first takes the Green Goblin mantle, we'll just have to wait and see...what do you guys think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts below!

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Sally Fields as Aunt May

My only concerns here...

1.) Will the Sinister 6 be mashed in with Green Goblin in the 3rd movie? Or saved for the 4th film with Doc Ock rising being the top leader of the sinister 6?

2.) if the Sinister 6 are saved for the 4th film does this mean no venom?? Besides that rumored solo flick directed by Josh Trank?

I think Goblin and Vulture will be the baddies in 3!

Great cast.
It's also bringing in some fairly new amazing talent with:
Dane DeHaan and Felicity Jones!

It's a shame Shailene isn't in it anymore, she's an incredible rising star.

You almost had me with your sarcasm! lol I actually don't want the sinister six to appear until a possible 6th film (which I'm sure will 85% not be made) lol I wanted to see that moment straight out of the comic books when Peter and MJ are about to get married and all of a sudden the Sinister Six invade the wedding and cause total hell.

Plus if we're supposed to be getting characters such as Black Cat how will they be able to mash all these characters in before the 4th film?

We already have Electro, Rhino, Goblin and possibly Doc Ock and Vulture depending on if they make cameos. I'm still, puzzled on that "Sinister 6 logo" on the set of ASM2. I have a weird feeling that all of the villains will already be established.

I really want 6 spider-man films. It can be done and Garfield won't look that old at all.

Yeah I don't buy it. Harry will be Green Goblin this time round.

To be on your "last legs" mean that you're about to reach an end which was hinted at in The Amazing Spider-Man. The Goblin serum is most likely made for the solution. And also we'll most likely get the Sinister 6 in The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

But I highly doubt they'd give Norman Osborn such a small role in the film series to kill him off and have Harry as the Green Goblin. But it's still possible.

After the ASM2 was announced I pictured the franchise like this...

TASM 1: Lizard
TASM: Electro, Rhino (Doc Ock Cameo)
TASM: Green Goblin, Vulture (Symbiote)
TASM: Kraven and Chameleon *Kraven's Last Hunt*
Venom Spinoff: Venom vs Carnage
TASM: Venom and Scorpion
TASM: Sinister Six (Doc Ock, Rhino, Shocker, Vulture, Mysterio and Electro)

There are so many classic spider-man Stories they can take from story wise and they threw them out the window. As a Spider-Man fan I am so disappointed so far what I see from this reboot which should never been made.

Here's what I'm thinking...
TASM 1: Lizard
TASM 2: Electro, Rhino briefly, Goblin Intro
TASM 3: Green Goblin (Doc Ock before he is evil and Vulture Cameo)
TASM 4: Doc Ock and Scorpion (same tech for Doc's tentacles as for Scorpion's tail)
TASM 5: Venom (Carnage cameo)
TASM 6: Sinister Six (Doc Ock, Rhino, Scorpion, Vulture, Electro and Mysterio as the leader)

If you want something new and innovative you're looking at the wrong genre. Comic books and comic book movies rarely bring new concepts and are based on previous works.

TASM franchise looks great though!

A Spidey fan who doesn't what to see crap and shit ass reboot that not even coming close as good as older films. A True fan who deserve to see a better Movie that takes from comic classic moments. They don't even have Jameson in the films for peek sake he key player in the series ugh. Dr. Connor wouldn't never keep turning himself into the lizard on purpose that goes against everything about him. What wrong with me what wrong with you guys we all need a Spider-Man film that edit better then ASM. The people making this movie don't know what they want as they took MJ out she was there now she not they have no clue what there doing. Sorry that's how I feel I don't hate the film I watch it but think we could do better than what were getting.

It's okay man I wanna see 6 Spidey movies too
I guess if a 6th amazing Spiderman was filming... Andrew would probably be 38 or 39 at that time.... Which want be bad.

But for right now Sony are confirming all the till 2018 which is pretty far rightl and no other movie has a release date that far ahead
