Dane DeHaan Addresses ‘Harry Osborn’ Talks For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Sequel

Explaining how he'd be flattered to join the anticipated followup to The Amazing Spider-Man, among other things, check out what Dane DeHaan had to say regarding playing Harry Osborn

Following reports that he was up for the role of Harry Osborn and then being spotted leaving the sequel's director Marc Webb's home, Chronicle actor Dane DeHaan seemed more than likely to nab The Amazing Spider-Man 2 role. However, more actors' names have been tossed in the mix since then. But recently making promotional rounds for the Blu-ray and DVD release of his gangster film Lawless, DeHaan weighed in on both subjects with Crave Online.

“You know, I would love to be in Spider-Man. I have a lot of respect for Andrew Garfield as a person and an artist and a lot of respect for Marc Webb as a person and an artist. If that opportunity were to come along, I would be really flattered and humbled to be a part of it. But that’s about it for now I guess.” When asked if already auditioned, DeHaan replied, “Well, I know there’s a lot of names being tossed around and rumors and stuff, but again, it’s a project I would love to do and if the opportunity would come along and the offer would come along, I would love to do it. Until then, I don't think it’s worth speculating or creating rumors.”

As of now starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Fields, and reportedly Shailene Woodley with Jamie Foxx, The Amazing Spider-Man sequel is scheduled for release on May 2, 2014.

If we had a different actor 4 Spidey I could c him as Harry, but Garfield looks too old 4 half the cast, so unfortunately it just wouldn't look right...

They're obviously waiting until they cast Norman before they definitively cast a Harry.

So is Harry Osborne definitely in this? And MJ?
The one bad thing that everyone hated about TASM was the fact that it was pretty much the exact same movie that we saw 10 years ago (only slightly better) and as such nobody could really get excited about it.
Way to make the sequel have the same failings, dudes.

I think he would fit the role pretty good. He was great in Chronicle, the best performance in that movie by far.

...You guys realize Toby was the same age as Andrew at the time Spidey 1 was filmed J released right?

@vRockMcCarty Go for it lol!

I don't think he'd be good as Harry, at first I did but after talking with some ppl about it I decided against it. He would be too predictible as Harry, he'd be a rip off of his character in Chronicle, unloved/abused by his father, has friends who care for him, still gets bullied some slowly starts turning evil. It would just be dumb in my opinion. But some ppl might like that so whatever I dont have the final say on it anyways...

Hope he get the role, the new guys on the list suck! Clafin is the only choice on that list I might like. But who knows, Andrew Garfield was on the list to play Parker and no one ever mentioned him and people always ruled him out because of age, so we'll see.

He is the perfect choice for Harry Osborn. I don't care for the other actors mentioned.

They don't have the right look or vibe for Harry Osborn.

I like Dane DeHaan a lot, but I don't think that he would bring much Harry Osborn. He was outstanding in Chronicle, but I think he's too... Wimpy(?) to play Harry Osborne. I've seen Dave Franco tossed around, which I suppose I wouldn't hate, but I'd like to see someone with Armie Hammer's presence. Not Hammer himself, just someone who carries himself like that. I also saw Dane DeHaan's name tossed around for Johnny Storm in the reboot, whereas I'd much rather see someone like Hunter Parrish. DeHaan would be great for a lot of comic book roles, these just aren't them.
