CGI looks [frick]ing terrible, looks as cheap as [frick] for a Hollywood production and something out of a video game. You sure this isn't a teaser for the tie in video game?

Holy shit guys, to start with the CGI is fine. It might be that you're used to all special effects loaded with colour grading to desaturate the [frick] out of everything, which ends up hiding a lot of faults in the CG. But these guys decided to keep the colour in which I think looks great. Very reminiscent of the Raimi films with that sunset tone to the sky. Make that night time with a sharp "moonlight" backlight like the first films and none of you would be complaining.

I think the thing that bugs me more than fan boy flame wars are the constant whining about "shit CG". I've heard someone say that about an effect that turned out to be a practical effect, no CG involved.. TBH I think people just say that when they think something "looks fake".. well duh, it's a dude swinging through the city on spiderwebs. Now if you have any clue what you're talking about then point that out. i.e. poor lighting, animation.. too much motion blur, (which generally is an post-CG-editing addition that the CG artists had no control over).. or maybe poor masking which gives a fuzzy outline around characters on green screen.. whatever, but jumping straight to "shit CGI" or "this looks like a video game" is just lame sauce.

The main reason this bugs me is that the CG industry is constantly being screwed over by hollywood and hard working, talented, CG artists and animators are being laid off left and right. And the ones who do have jobs are being paid peanuts for huge workloads that have to meet tighter and tighter deadlines. And then what thanks do they get? [frick]ing fanboys complaining that there's "too much CG", when in reality your precious superhero films are only possible because of what these artists can do with their "shit CG"

Oh and with the "it looks like a video game"... today's video games have incredible graphics,.. it's not like it looks like N64.. plus CG artists get paid better working for video games than they do for film, so that's probably why all the best ones are over there..

Anyway, enough of my rant.. peace and love all..

I am however annoyed at the fact that they are releasing teasers for this trailer and hyping it up with three different introductions from three of the cast members.

I mean come on this is just too much for one damn trailer.
