Tom Holland Reveals How Many SPIDER-MAN Movies He's Signed On For As He Covers THR Along With Zendaya

Tom Holland has opened up about reprising the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in next year's Spider-Man: Homcoming during a new interview with THR. The young British actor describes the audition process, how his incarnation of the Webhead will differ from previous ones ("every fight scene we have is designed in a way that's almost child-friendly, so he never actually punches anyone"), whether or not he consulted Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield for advice, and more.

The biggest reveal, however, is how many films he's signed on for. All Marvel actors are contracted for multiple appearances of course, but Holland provides a clear idea of how often we can expect to see him suit up as Spidey over the next few years.

"They give you options, and those could be exercised whenever. Like a cameo in Avengers. I'm unclear as to which movies, though. I do know I have three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They're very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other."

Holland also graced the cover of THR's Next Gen issue with Zendaya (though they're not in character), which you can see below:

Nice, Holland is (IMO) the best Peter, and Spidey! So I look forward to more movie with him.

@DashParr - I just hope the not punching anyone thing isn't true.

@Buckster10 - IF they play it well it could look pretty good. But if not it'll look weird.

@Buckster10 - I found I liked the TASM films fer having Spidey always trying to find ways other than an all-out dukesfest to defeat his foes. Having a character as acrobatic and playful as Spider-Man seems wasted when it devolves into a typical punching match.

@DashParr - No! They actually did that in the 90's cartoon. I was worried when Disney first took over this would happen! Give kids some credit. Growing up, the movies I watched didn't treat kids like babies. I really hope that's not true.

What does "three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted" mean?
What is a solo movie if not a Spider-man movie?

@DashParr -

umm..we've only seen him in like..ten minutes maybe

so its hard to say

idk, this guy couldve done wonders if he was given better material to work with.

just look at the passion and sincerity he had for the role.

@Buckster10 - he needs to throw a few at least but in reality he could never punch a regular Joe Villain in the face. He'd kill the man in one blow!

@ThatAlexDude - if Sony allows MARVEL to do the marketing then 100% it will be shown about a week prior to Rogue one's release because it's a huge DISNEY owned film. Not to mention that on average they release their trailers approximately 6-7 months prior to the release of the actual film. And December is 7 months out from Homecoming's July release, so I would definitely expect something.

@ThatAlexDude -

Well, given the ties with Sony they would probably want it to promote their own movie. Alternatively they will attach to a big-name film to get exposure.

So either;
17th November - Fantastic Beasts and where to find them
23rd November - Moana
16th December - Rogue One
21st December - Passengers
6th January - Underworld Blood Wars
27th January - Resident Evil; The Final Chapter
