How I think a SPIDER-MAN reboot should be like

It’s been a while since I haven’t written an article so let’s try to make this readable and not boring. Let me know what you guys think of this.

Excuse me if I have grammar or spelling mistakes, I don’t live in an English-speaking country.

Let’s start recasting Peter Parker/Spiderman and talking about the character:
Some people say that the Amazing Spiderman franchise needs a reboot but not a recast of Spiderman. I think the main reasons on why it needs a reboot are:
-          Overall plot.
-          Tone.
-          Andrew Garfield and his version of Peter Parker.
I have to be honest here, I don’t like Andrew Garfield as Spiderman, I just don’t like it. I’m not gonna say that Tobey Maguire was the best although I don’t know. The thing is; I’m not gonna lie and I think Andrew Garfield doesn’t feel like Spiderman. I know that here complaining is for b*tches and fanboys and I completely understand it (`cause complaining sucks!) so I’m not going to start b*tching about why I think Andrew Garfield is not a great Peter. If you think he is perfect, I respect it.

My Spiderman would have a Peter Parker hairstyle with a part on a side, not that spiky hairstyle. And he would not be skinny, ‘cause sometimes he is represented as a skinny character and other times more jacked. I prefer jacked. So the stunt man would also have to be jacked. Not captain America jacked but quicksilver-in-avengers-age-of-ultron-jacked. Kind of like that. The pick is not important, the characteristics are. So my pick is…

Travis Van Winkle.

Wait! Wait! Let me at least explain myself, please. I know he has been cast lots of times as Flash Thompson and if you search him in Google Images you will say: “Ok, this is not PP, this is Flash” so don’t search him in Google. If I had searched for him in Google images I would have never picked him as Peter Parker but after seeing him in Michael Bay’s last ship I started to think of him as Cap but then I said: Hey, this guy could also be Spiderman. But as I said, the pick is not important, the characteristics are. But seriously, imagine that face in a Spidey costume punching doc ock in the face swinging in a web.

Another pick: Brett Harrison.

Just in case you unbelievable hate my other pick, I would love to see this guy as Spiderman as well. Just as much as Travis.

Peter Parker should work on the daily Bugle as a photographer like in the comics and Jameson would be played by Doctor Cox himself John C. McGinley or Stephen Lang. Aunt May would have short grey hair like in the comics. Spiderman would catch the killer of Uncle Ben after his death like in the comics. And he wouldn’t take his mask off all the time.

Spidey’s Costume:

I don’t really know why but the costume from The Amazing Spiderman felt like Spiderman but the one from Rise of Electro didn’t. I think big eyes and skinny body doesn’t work. This one would be bigger but still, his eyes wouldn’t be so big like the ones from TASM2. I wouldn’t do many changes to the costume from the comics. I hate the wrinkles all over Spidey’s suit in the amazing Spiderman.

I really like Raimi’s suit. Fits like a glove.

So the spidey suit that you see right next to Brett Harrison is an example of what I would like to see.

Don't tell me Andrew Garfield is this guy up here.

Plot Style:

The plot wouldn’t be dark and gritty like nowadays. Nowadays every setting is black, every hero costume is black/dark, and every supervillain costume is the same. Spiderman films should have lots of color. We need a superhero film that is truly super, with an amazing soundtrack that makes everyone feel like a true hero. The Spidey movies should have an air of adventure. No armour costumes for the villains. Just costumes, although just a little bit more serious than the costume that Peter Parker puts on. How would you like to see a cool adaptation of this?

Seriously, what is this?

Sorry, sorry, I crossed the line, this article is not about complaining about the looks of the characters, just trying to make them better (or at least talking about how I would like to see them) but I wanted to mention it. Let’s continue.

I think centering a whole spiderman franchise on: “Oscorp is very secretive, secrets, secrets, truth, parents, blah blah blah…” is just not good. Spiderman comics are not about conspiracies. And why all the villains have to be born in Oscorp? Ok, one or two more villains maximum aside from the Green Goblin could be born in Oscorp but not more than that.

Extra things about certain characters:

And the first green Goblin should be Norman freaking Osborn, who would be a total badass and the first one to know the secret identity of Spiderman, giving him advantage. He would be played by Jason Isaacs.

Also, the Venom symbiote would be alien and Eddie Brock would wear it second, the first being Spiderman. And carnage would be Cletus Kassady.

That being said, thank you for reading, have a nice day, I am BaronZemo. And don’t forget to freak out in the comment section below to keep the internet crazy and entertaining.

P.S.: But seriously tho, overusing Oscorp is getting pretty boring.

i say next time skip the origin story and just open with a few quick scenes of a funeral while spidey narrates saying "a great man once told me with great power come great responsibility" and that "ever since then ive used my powers to protect the people of this city" then show him swing into action. im fed up of origin stories just jump straight in because everyone knows spidey's origin.

@MrSotoMan

What if Raimi and Maguire had made their Spider-man movies at Marvel studios instead of Sony's? How different do you think things would have been by now? Can I get your opinion?

This article is literally "Do the opposite of TASM 2!!!" We've heard it all before, please shut up. Also your second choice for Spidey has incredibly spiky hair.

It's definitely going to get rebooted again when it goes back to Marvel whether you like it or not.

What do you mean they "requeled" Hulk? I never understand how people can say Incredible Hulk was related to Ang Lee's Hulk in any way.

In IH they changed all of the actors, the story, the origin was totally different than what was show. I Ang Lee's....basically nothing carried over from Hulk to Incredible Hulk. I don't care if IH started in South America and thats where Hulk ended. The events of Hulk were completely changed.

You don't hear anyone saying Amazing Spider-Man is a requel of Maguire's Spidey films simply because it starts in the same city. (Even though i all fairness ASM had a very similar plot and structure to Maguire's firat Spidey.)

Anyway, i'm not trying to be a dick, i like you on here, but i don't get how anyone can say IH is a requel.

@MrSotoMan @GliderMan

I'm going to try to be very honest with you guys when I make this kind of claim. The people who don't like Garfield isn't because he's a bad Spider-man, but it's because he doesn't work as an ideal Spider-man in people's minds. Remember that there's a difference between characterization and idealism. If one doesn't work, then the other sure won't either.

It's like doing simple math: 2(x)=4

You get the answer, but you still have x missing.

So I guess it's something that BaronZemo was trying to point out in his article.

It might not get rebooted, but he'll definitely be recasted for sure. There is no chance that another studios would keep the same actor from another studios.
