Guess I'm not the only one who saw this right away, a youtube user decided to put it side by side in a pretty cool edited video.

Personally I don't mind it at all, it's still cool. But the similarity is uncanny... what do you think?

hahahah....thats hilarious....o wonder who gets credit for creative minds on this one.... lol. Or should we get back to the LAZY ASS theory. Why cant hollywood find originality anymore?....its because they dont know how. Instead...they just reboot everything. Creative minds are dead.

Who cares?! It looks cool. Especially for a spiderman film. Dont mind the fact that one is a video game and one is a movie. No one owns POV. Besides, I didn't think it's been done in a movie, at least not like this. Its just a trailer guys.

duh, of course he had to edit the gameplay footage... did you honestly think it was gonna be an uncut frame for frame copy? Even still it does look very similar

who ever cut that didnt even try to make it flow, plus mirrors edge is basically first person spiderman rip off, like weapon XI ripped off baraka but baraka ripped off wolverine
spiderman ripped off mirrors edge, but mirrors edge ripped off spiderman

So right under the headline it says the video is edited and everyone is acting the guy who posted and saying it is stupid. The whole concept is to point the lack of creativity and/or how similar it is to the game just greatly condensed. In either case, so many things in life follow the same formula but have different run times and all that, but you can edit a lot of things to show similarities. For example in CBMovies always tragic reason for powers, learning to use them, bad guy gains powers, evil plot, climax, happy ending. But they won't look exactly the same. This video however shows too similar of events (condensed) possibly based on someone's memory.

It's ok I guess, I just think that stuff should be for 3D rides, not movies.

acting = attacking*
(why can't we edit anymore)

I don't understand why they didn't do the entire DOOM movie in FP. That sequence was a darn good piece of camera work and nearly made up for the rest of the crap movie.

free running is just being spiderman though with less danger, you cant tell me jumping across buildings and running up walls is not based on spiderman and other acrobatic superheroes

gamecreatorjj - That is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever read. So by your logic, we can credit Stan Lee and Spiderman for even thinking of running up walls... because no one had ever thought of being acrobatic before Spiderman was created.......

People were performing parkour like moves back in the 30's. Hell, martial arts has been around since the dawn of time and many forms employ wall running and other acrobatic moves!

I don't mind differing viewpoints, but gawd have some sense before you post stupid shit

you are all stupid to believe that they stole anything from that game! the person responsible clearly states that he replicated what he saw in the trailer using the game. not the other way around.

Believe it or not, there is a second whole article about this in the spiderman section ... so I'm just going to repost what I said there:

This is SO UNBELIEVABLY STUPID. I thought you guys were joking at first when you said 'look how blatant they have copied that entire action cutscene!'I own mirrors edge, it's an awesome game, it made me feel like spiderman or batman running through the city, yes it was first person, but NO there was never a cutscene remotely similar to what we just watched. THAT is a video that a fan has edited to look just like the trailer. It's not uncommon. In fact, there is something exactly like what i'm talking about over in the batman tab called 'The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Animated' you can also find it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EjSlqNACts. Would you watch that and say: ' How unoriginal Mr Nolan. Ripping off a twenty-year-old cartoon tsk tsk tsk' ???? NO you wouldn't because you can tell there are BLATANT cuts and deliberate attempts to recreate the camera movements and action of the real teaser. For crying out loud, just look at the comparison trailer! @TaooftheBatman Look at the 3sec/4sec mark for a cut, then 5sec/6sec mark for another cut, then 8sec/9sec mark for another cut and a great big fake upside down swirl effect from windows movie maker, then 11 sec, then 14 sec, then 16 sec, then 18 sec, then 22 sec. None, NONE of that was continuous running. The source video from youtube is actually called 'Spiderman trailer replicated in mirrors edge' ...REPLICATED ... as in purposely cut and timed to match the recent trailer EXACTLY. The only thing this trailer has in common with mirrors edge is the fact that the characters run and climb and jump over buildings from a first person perspective. She isn't copying spiderman, wearing a spider suit and swinging off webs or sticking to walls and the spiderman trailer isn't copping the mirror's edge's action beats second for freaking second....Christ.

Honestly I could care less that it looks like it. It was really cool to see in the theater last night when I saw Cap. Personally I hope they don't do this in the movie or at least keep it to a minimum, because as one person pointed out on here, it's not going to do me much good on my regular tv at home.
