SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Is Eyeing A Massive $85 Million - $105 Million Box Office Opening

In 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse debuted at the North American box office with $35.4 million. The upcoming sequel, Across the Spider-Verse, is currently set to open with nearly triple that amount!

Tickets for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse went on sale yesterday, and we now have the first box office tracking for Sony Pictures' highly anticipated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

It's obviously still early days, but as of now, the movie is likely to swing into U.S. theaters with an $85 million - $105 million opening weekend. The first movie made a respectable $35.4 million during its debut, though positive word-of-mouth saw it earn $190.2 million by the end of its run. It would later win the "Best Animated Feature" Oscar.

In contrast, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is likely to swing as high as $226 million - $325 million.

That's a huge increase, and all signs point to this being the biggest family movie of the summer. It's tracking stronger than Elemental, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and will only have competition that weekend from horror movie The Boogeyman

Two more international posters for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have also been released, and you can check them out below.

@MCUKnight11 - Summer blockbusters began last week with GOTG. The one I'm most excited for the summer is Indy 5 though, looking to say goodbye to the character for now.

I have a feeling this will be the hit of hits. The first film became a cultural phenomenon long after it was released, i remember watching it on the theater and it wasn't even packed, no one knew how good it would be. But now more people have faith in this franchise, i think is gonna be +$105 Million, and it deserves it.

That's a lot considering the first one did just "ok", I guess Sony promoting this as a "sequel" to NWH is putting butts on seats...that, and the reputation of the first movie, similar to TDK making so much more than Begins.

I was sooooo against spiderman into the spiderverse when i first saw the trailer. i hated the animation etc.... then it came out on redbox and i decided to rent it. IMMEDIATLY fell in love with the movie and it's now the 2nd best spiderman movie imo. I was wrong on so many levels and i was happy to be wrong. The next day bought the blueray and whenever this is on Tv i watch it.... long story short... i hope the next one is as good as the original if not better
