Shortly after Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swung into theaters, many moviegoers began complaining about the sequel's sound mix. There were lines of dialogue which were near-impossible to hear, with the soundtrack overpowering what the characters on screen were saying.
With an improved version later sent out to theaters, eagle-eyed fans noticed a couple of scenes had been changed, with at least a few sequences differing slightly.
As we first reported on Toonado.com, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's Digital release confirms which version of the critically acclaimed sequel should be considered "officially" canon.
In the Digital movie, Spider-Man 2099 is forced to take a selfie with his virtual assistant Lyla with a bunny filter. Previously, we saw her simply point at her boss and exchange some snappy dialogue.
As for Andy Samberg's Scarlet Spider, he makes a quip about his "well-defined musculature," meaning the scene in which he talks about putting Miles in a sleeper hold is consigned to the history books. Another change shows Spider-Gwen reacting differently to Miles seemingly being crushed in Spider-Man India's Mumbattan.
This is interesting, but we're sure most of you will be combing through Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's Digital release for Easter Eggs. One fan, for example, has already spotted one which passed us by on the big screen...
Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now available on Digital platforms.
